Nah, they're not real, I already read this thing about it. They're actually bionic surveillance ducks that cruise around filing the white house premises, a live camera feed is transmitted back to a white house security office where it is constantly monitored by security personnel.
They were developed by a couple of MIT students working under DARPA sponsorship.
They better build little ramps for the smaller ones to get up the curbs.
Can't some of you post nice things instead of bullsh$t once in a while? We infringe on their habitat all the time ,where do you expect them to go? I think it is really cool to see this,at least they know they'll be safe!on the grounds.
Where I live in the Syracuse area of Upstate NY, we have a year-round population of Canadian geese who can be a bit of a traffic hazard when they decide to congregate near roads. Unlike whitetail deer - who normally stop crossing a road when cars approach - or wild turkeys - who seem oblivious to cars and keep crossing in large numbers - geese act like they own the road and won't move unless they absolutely must in order to avoid getting run over. So they can be annoying, but also a lot of fun to watch.

Its really hard to be in a bad mood around a duck when you see one chortling and digging about in the grass and dirt, quivering with joy at every bug it finds.
I agree, ducks are always fun and funny. It's a pretty good incarnation.
