Spitzer Trumps Paterson For Governor: Poll
A new Marist poll found that a majority of New Yorkers would prefer sex-scandal plagued former Governor Eliot Spitzer to current Governor David Paterson. Fifty-one percent of those polled said they would prefer Spitzer, and only 19 percent believe Paterson is doing a good or excellent job in office.
The poll has more bad news for Paterson.
66% of voters say he does not have what it takes to lead the state while just 28% think he is a good leader ... Looking at one of the most pressing problems in New York State - the economic crisis - 68% of the electorate disapproves of how Paterson is handling the situation, and 23% approve...
Although a full 66 percent of voters say Paterson is working hard as governor, just two months ago 77 percent of voters believed he was working hard.
