Rihanna stepped back into the spotlight at Monday night's Met Costume Institute Gala wearing a puffy-shouldered tuxedo.

Twiggy, Lake Bell, and Lauren Bush followed suit. See below.

I love tuxedos on women but would have liked to see an Armani soft lapel cut or a Yves St Laurent with heels.

He's a violent thug and apparently she is somewhat unbalanced. She always looks like she's on medication, legal or otherwise. It's just a matter of time until she lets that bum beat her again or some other "gangsta" do it.

You obviously have an odd sense of what a gangsta is. Chris Brown is far from a gangsta, but is definately a peace of $hit for putting his hands on a women period. I don't even want to know what type of father he will be if he can't even set a good example for the millions of kids that already look up to him.

Absolutely hate the jacket; it throws her out of proportion.

Oh no, please do not tell me big shoulders are back in style :-), however, I do love the look on Rhianna.

Slightly less shoulder, longer pants, and combat boots - that would be hot.

Still it does look really good on her.

Rihanna and her stylists seemed to be the only people who understood "costume" and "sexy" could be applied to the same outfit..

To me Rhianna is one of the very few who gets "fashion" at all.

She could teach Beyounce a thing or two.

She models for Versace, CoverGirl and a few others but yes I agree, she'd make a fantastic model.

This is a beautiful girl.

Rihanna, by far, looks the most feminine, sophisticated, and elegant in the pseudo-tux.

How about some overalls with high heels. Isn't she the one that got her face pounded? Some serious personality self loathing issues here. Stupid women will imitate her to be sure.

Stop hating on Rhianna. She's young yet. She'll figure it out.

I didn't have an opinion about her one way or another, but the weeks after the incident, I became more and more disenchanted with her. I know she's young, but she appeared to seek out lots of attention afterward, she holed up with the very guy who beat her for days, and didn't help the police. There was more effort from the jewelers to get their jewelry back than from Rhianna or her family about the beating. She has a young audience of mostly girls, great because they make her wealthy and well-known, bad because they emulate her.

That just looks weird! What if a Matt Damon or Justin Timberlake showed up in a dress?? Would it be the next 'in thing'??

If any of the men at the event had worn a kilt would you be so disturbed? How do you feel about the fact that literally millions of men throughout Asia wear sarongs or longer robes every day? Does it threaten your masculinity to see a Middle Eastern man in robes? How about clergy - do they give you the willies?

Justin Timberlake looks fierce in a dress. I wish more men were secure enough in their masculinity to wear something other than the same old 20th century Western suit & tie. Maybe that's just what's needed to encourage peeople like you to open your minds & discard your tired, useless old notions about gender roles.
