OK, on with the paternity test, which Hunter so far refused to do, although Edwards should have insisted, and gotten it over with. If the NI story is actually true, we'll all know, if Hunter's financial situation improves. Maybe it really is Andrew Young's, and not Edwards' baby. Young was married, too...I think she just may have been an opportunist, looking for a wealthy guy she could set up and be set for life. After all, she is over 40 and her chances of snagging a rich guy are pretty nil by now.

By definition: Gold digger:
a woman who associates with or marries a man chiefly for material or monetary gain.

A gold digger by any other name would be Lisa Druke the Rielle (Real) Hunter.

Has the miner struck Gold ?

but you have no idea why she associated with him. You don't know what he told her or promised her,

If the stories are true, it's not that she's a gold digger but that he is a player. It really doesn't matter whether she is a gold digger or not. He did the crime and he should be taking care of that baby if it is his. The people who contributed to his campaign certainly aren't responsible for raising it!

I feel that Edwards has lost the future vote of women. Among this group, his integrity has been damaged beyond repair, IMO.

I think that there will be continued and much-needed discussion about the moral standard set by the politicians who serve us. The voting public deserves better! John Edwards cannot possibly resurrect his political career without coming completely clean about his moral transgressions, IMO. The public is owed answers to the tough questions that Edwards is currently skirting.

Future ambitious politicians might take heed of the continued fallout from Edwards "fall from grace." America needs a better thinker than this. It needs visionary who knows how important honesty is. America is in need of someone who sets a positive, moral standard which others want to emulate. It does not need someone who will keep dig a trench to escape the spotlight and much-needed scrutiny! What Edwards continues to do in the aftermath of his affair is so much more than disappointing; it is sickening.

As you all continue to discuss Lisa Druke's lastest pay day story from
the National Enquirer. I think you all should remember these important
facts:
John and Elizabeth Edwardsa have been married for 31 years.
They had four children together, three are living, and one, recently, died.
Elizabeth Edwards has stage 4 cancer.
Any decent human being would not have inserted herself
into their lives, and then sold stories about them to the National Enquierer
for monetary gain.
Lisa Druke, a.k.a. the Rielle (Real) Hunter fills me with disgust.
I hope someday to never hear anything about her again.

Edwards had this to say in response to the following question:

Was it right for the public to judge candidates by this higher moral standard?

...Edwards didn’t give a direct answer. He said, “I don't think it's for me to impose my judgment on anybody about what they can consider and what they can't consider. I think that I have my own view, which I'm going to keep to myself tonight, but I think in the long run it is enormously important for us to have the best thinkers, the most visionary people, and people who know where the country needs to go and where the world needs to go, I think that is absolutely crucial for America and the world.”..

Now...here are some more questions from another former supporter: Was it "best thinking" to publicly disgrace and betray your cancer-ridden wife who admitted just how important fidelity was to her even before your marriage to her? What lasting "vision" will your own children have when they realize just how shallow your own family commitment has been? Will you be able to lead the advocacy movement when "damage control" is one of your priorities? Is your self-professed narcissism currently interfering with your ability to be honest with the public? How can you be trusted to lead America and/or the world when so many unanswered questions remain? How much longer will we be taken for fools?

Think about the meaning of this quote, myview, and answer all your own questions:

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy. "

William Shakespeare, "Hamlet", Act 1 scene 5

JE showed very little respect for his 31 year old marriage and four children. Any decent man would not have betrayed his family and cheated on a cancer-stricken wife.

Elizabeth is in denial about John's true relationship with Rielle and her almost saintly depictions of John in her new book show that she is not being honest about the fact that her and John’s quest for profit seems to have been much more of a priority in the years leading up to John’s run for the Democratic nomination than his efforts at fighting poverty. In "Resilience" Elizabeth states:

“It didn’t occur to me that at a fancy hotel in New York, where he sat with a potential donor to his antipoverty work, he would be targeted by a woman who would confirm that the man at the table was John Edwards and then would wait for him outside the hotel hours later when he returned from a dinner, wait with the come-on line “You are so hot”..."

Elizabeth knows John met Rielle in early 2006 and that during this time John was in NYC primarily because he was under contract as a consultant with the Fortress Investment Group (the hedge fund which the Edwards have invested a large portion of their wealth). John was surely having a little hedge fund business chat over cocktails when Rielle spotted him. I seriously doubt he was, as Elizabeth describes, “sitting with a potential donor to his antipoverty work” (Fortress’ headquarters only a few short blocks from the Regency Hotel). Elizabeth, give the "John is a tireless champion of the poor" schtick a rest!

So Lisa Druke, a.k.a. the Rielle (Real) Hunter does not
know who the father of her child is.
Whose fault is that?

What do you call a woman who does not know who her baby's father is? A guest on the Maury show or something else.

After reading parts of Elizabeth's interview with Oprah, I can't really blame Rialle for demanding a paternity test. Elizabeth portrays John as a young innocent who had a one time tryst with the conniving Hunter. John needs to own up and Elizabeth needs to see her husband as an equally culpable partner.
