In his first public speaking appearance since his wife Natasha Richardson's tragic death, Liam Neeson quoted poet Paul Muldoon to describe how art helps heal the heart.
Neeson -- who left the college before graduating -- received an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, Queens University Belfast, at the British Consulate in NYC on Wednesday.

I am proud to say that Paul Muldoon is a friend of mine... I am glad he is able to find comfort in Paul's words. He is a true Irish poet.
People here are actually complaining about the picture? I'm sure we've all had days we look a little haggard, so what?

I appreciate seeing a "Leading Man" experiencing grief with incredible dignity and honest emotion. So much of our society wants the grieving to "just get over it." Grief and healing have their own timetable and process. To see a man - who would otherwise be hounded by paparazzi - now moving through life in the open, willing to be authentic instead of hiding behind a facade - is inspiring. Mr. Neeson and his family are in my prayers.
