Michelle Obama At White House Correspondents Dinner: Pink Dress, Bejeweled Necklace (PHOTOS)

Michelle Obama Dress

On Saturday night, Michelle Obama attended the annual White House Correspondents Dinner with her husband, President Barack Obama. She wore a spring-appropriate hot pink, sheath-style dress with piping detail. She sparkled her way through the evening accessorized with a jewel-encrusted necklace, that included a matching pink flower, even laughing while comedian Wanda Sykes -- the evening's entertainer -- poked a little fun, questioning the First Lady's decision to pat the queen on the back "like she just slid into home plate -- way to go, queen!"

She kept the rest of the look simple with diamond studs and smokey purple eyeshadow.

UPDATE: According to New York magazine, Michelle's dress was by designer Michael Kors -- which makes for her second Kors-designed dress in a week.

The color is wonderful on her but the dress is too tight and her gut hangs out.

The only thing about pipeline stitching is that its makes you smaller in the wrong places, which is our boobies, and it makes our bottom's look funny tooo. Sigh I LOVE being a woman!

Who cares what overpriced dress she wore?

Love the dress and necklace...but the dress does smush in her bustline a little - at least from the side.

To the posters who "think" Michael Kor must hate Michelle for wearing his dresses, here is what he actually said: “I am honored that she chose to wear my clothes to two events in the same week and looked so chic at both occasions.”

The dress is ill-fitting and a bit too tight, but the necklace is very pretty. I love that the First Lady is a costume jewelry fan.

I love the necklace, too.

I think that the reason Michelle is wearing clothes too tight for her (remember the strapless gown she wore that was black with crystals maybe, worn with a many-stranded pearl choker? Can't remember the event,) is that she is still choosing styles she looked great in about 15 or 20 pounds ago. She's just not seeing her current self when she looks in the mirror. She is a wonderful and very attractive woman, no question, but she 's making some bad clothing choices with these skintight dresses. I'm one of the few who loved that asymmetrical argyle cardigan with the blue dress---I like fun and edgy clothes sometimes. I just don't think wearing clothes that look better on another body type, or your own former body type, is wise.

Oh, dear. The constant 'hater commenter.' Vocabulary flash cards could help a lot. There are several other words in the English language. And reading helps, too---for example, the sentence where I said, "She is a wonderful and very attractive woman."

I actually liked that strapless gown, but didn't like all the necklaces. But I agree that if the pink dress would have been a size up and had a little altering it would have been perfect.

Wow. When I saw FL Michelle walk out on the stage to take her seat, that fabulous necklace just knocked me out. That was simply exquisite to say the least.

For those who argue that FLOTUS is no Jack O. You are right. FLOTUS knows how to keep her man from straying. I cannot say the same for Jack O. JFK fell in love w/ a woman that's shaped like FLOTUS, curvy and sexy (Marilyn Monroe). POTUS is married to a woman who's already curvy and sexy.

Look, you don't need to tear down a dead woman to stand up for MO, do you? That doesn't say much about you or MO.

And you don't know what is going on in the Obama marriage. Our President is a great leader, but he is a man and, even for a president, he has some arrogance going.

Finally, it is a slam to all women to imply that if their mate is unfaithful it says somethig about the woman. Biologically and evolutionarily, males of species procreate with lots of females. This trend is not as pronounced for most male humans, but it is still something that has to do with the constant testosterone festival men live with.

It's the truth. Hate on a sexy woman but those r the ones who get and keep a man.

Yeah- I never liked Jackie O after she went after that married man (her last boyfriend). His wife practically begged her to back off. Someone here remembers...Maurice something? Anyway, when you're in your 60s and loaded it takes a serious lack of "class" (her supposed strong suit) to seduce a married man. She's like the punchline to that old joke: "we know what you are, madam, now we're just arguing price...."

Michelle is a much better role model. My kids can learn how to dress by browsing the check out aisle.

It would have been a fabulous look all around if it weren't for the stuffed sausage effect of the dress being too tight.

Anyone who says that's attractive is only foo ling themselves. But there are a lot of foo ls for Michelle on this comment board.

You mean I should wear a 'Fro?
10:23 PM on 05/12/2009
It's so freaking high-school. MO is not what she wears (thank the lord). Her accomplishments, her family, and everything else about her is separate from her clothing.

The necklace and flower were too much... One or the other, would do just fine. Otherwise, Michelle Obama, you are doing just fine...

The fact that Political Amazon and the others continue to make obsessive arguments about FLOTUS' appearance and sexy figure shows an unhealthy obsession and attraction to the FLOTUS.

You have got the right. She has a few obsessed stalkers.

I'm thinking the First Lady understands how to dress for comfort and fun, with an unerring instinct for color and form. IOW, she has unique style and beautiful fashion sense.
