It should be an ethics violation that she bluffed her way into the governorship;
"In one part of the interview, I asked her what newspapers and magazines she read before being asked to be John McCain's running mate," Couric said. "And she couldn't name any. So again, I turned to the crew and I said, 'Hold it, guys,' and I went to the Governor privately and said, 'Governor Palin, did you not understand the question? I'm asking you to name some newspapers or magazines you read. You can't come up with any? I'm just trying to make sure you're clear and to give you a fair shake here.' And she said, 'Okay. Nightline? Is that a magazine?' I said, 'No, that's a television show.' She said, 'What about Lou Dobbs? Isn't that a newspaper?' And I said, 'No, that's a man. Lou Dobbs is a man.' And there wasn't much more I could do. I'm not a miracle worker."

Did this really happen? Unbelievable!
23/6 is a parody.
To be honest, some of the complaints are rather trivial and in other states, would probably have been handled with small protests at the State Capitol and a meeting with the governor. For example, one was filed because she did not SIGN a declaration recognizing Juneteenth, which she is supposed to do every year since the holiday received recognition in 2007 (?). Her not signing a declaration caused the cancellation of some events. It was careless, but I don't think it amounts to an ethics violation.
The problem with HP and some posters is that we get this high from any article that puts Palin in a bad light (I know those of you will say you want HP to stop covering Palin, but it's obvious that you don't if you keep clicking on the links). Believe me, I'm no fan of Palin or her policies, but I do believe in approaching things objectively. I don't think Palin is a great governor, but it is becoming apparent that at least some of these ethics violations are nothing more than tactics to make her look bad. It's dishonest and it's for reasons like this that I cannot claim to belong to the right or the left.
The Juneteenth proclamation is a small matter in the overall scheme of things but the law requires her to make the proclamation every year. She didn't. Palin showed her disdain for the law and minorities.
Some filings are trivial, some are not but all help to gain a better understanding of how the governor should function and within which limitations. Palin is unique because she skirts the law and tests its limits like no other governor before her.
In the eyes of many, Palin is guilty of Troopergate and improper travel expenses. Those are two ethics violation filings. She had to pay the state back for her family's travel then was cleared.
One interesting outcome of these filings is Palin's immature reactions. She didn't help herself. It's not a stretch when some think she behaves more like a spoiled princess than a governor. It's no wonder her favorable ratings keep falling and her favorable ratings soar.
I'm not convinced she is guilty of Troopergate, but I do agree that the travel expenses were improper. You are right about her reactions though. She definitely isn't helping herself, whether she is guilty or not.
Keep the tactics going to make her look bad. I'm definitely not a fan and if there's any reason to get rid of her, then fine with me! Just do it.

Katie Couric: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?
Sarah Palin: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and, on our other side, the land boundary that we have with Canada. It's funny that a comment like that was kinda made to ... I don't know, you know ... reporters.
Couric: Mocked?
Palin: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.
Couric: Well, explain to me why that enhances your foreign-policy credentials.
Palin: Well, it certainly does, because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I am the executive of. And there...
Couric: Have you ever been involved in any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?
Palin: We have trade missions back and forth, we do. It's very important when you consider even national-security issues with Russia. As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right next to, they are right next to our state.
I don't understand where she learned to talk backwards like that. Is that an Alaskan thing, or a 'trying to figure out what you're saying as it is coming out of your mouth' thing?
Alaskans speak like anyone else so it's not an Alaskan thing.
Palin speaks like that when she is in a corner, doesn't know how to answer questions and feels lost, out of control. After Katy Couric, she was interviewed by Brian Williams but only with McCain present. That doesn't say much for a mavericky governor from Alaska who wants to be in the White House. Who will coach her when she is by herself?
After those interviews, she refused to do anymore unless it was someone from Faux or some tabloid publication or she gave an informal press conference where she can dodge questions and walk away.
How could any governor of these United States speak such gibberish? I think it should be a crime. if you're a public servant, you should be required to be smart, articulate and well-spoken. Palin has none of these qualities.
Who cares? Thankfully Palin's national political career was sunk a long time. It was torpedo'd by tricky questions like 'what paper's do you read?' and 'Other than Roe vs Wade what supreme court decisions have you disagreed with?'
Most voters have seen her for what she is - a know nothing relig' ious zeal 'ot.
PS we all owe Katie Couric a big thank you so if you see her please take time to say thanks.
Corruption is alive and well in Alaska. One survey of government employee convictions shows it's the 3rd most corrupt state in the country.
Palin appoints her friends, pays off lawyers then sets up a bailout fund so her fans can pay her legal expenses that are over half a million dollars.
She will be cleared of all of them. Why? Because the people who are hearing the complaints and are in charge of making decisions on them are all Palin appointees. Alaska needs to do something to change their system whereby a governor's appointees hear ethics complaints against the governor. If that's not a conflict of interest, I don't know what is.
On paper she was cleared of two other violations but not from the minds for the public.
She was cleared of Troopergate but so few believe she is innocent. The legislature found her guilty in a bipartisan Republican majority vote. That cost her about $500,000 in legal fees.
She was cleared of another violation in her travel expenses as long as she paid back about $10,000. She bought her so called innocense.
No kidding! If that's not "the fox minding the hen house" what is? The legislature should be making these appointments, period.
Well, what do you expect? She's a very corrupt woman. You shouldn't be so surprised.
Daniel also wrote that "the fact that the Governor traveled to Indiana to attend a dinner (and a breakfast meeting the next morning) did not take significant time, if any, away from the Governor's duties ... the Governor has staff members who interface with the Legislature, and the Governor herself can communicate with members of the Legislature by phone or e-mail, even when she is in another state."
===========================================================
WOW!! That's great news!
Now no sitting governor need ever reside in Alaska, except to keep official residency.
Heck, Palin could be orbiting the earth in a spacecraft as long as she had phone or e-mail!
Palin could hand pick another investigative board, from anywhere in the world.
Alaska .........................the satellite state!
Palin could just beam herself in, like CNN has demonstrated, to fulfill any officiating duties.
Palin could be in Hawaii next year to kick off the snowmachine race! OOOOOh, wouldn't Arctic Cat even like that better! She could be surrounded by drugged panthers, wearing a lime green thong bikini. Yawoooza! Just beam the Gov. in...........aaaaand she's off !
How, because people who Palin appointed to their jobs and can easily un-appoint them are finding that she is not guilty of obvious ethics complaints.
Too bad she can't give out great interviews.
Example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txfqWzGMgmY
I am not a hater and I didn't lose. She is in the red by more than $500,000 and set up a bailout fund for fans to pay her legal fees. More ethics violations ae under investigation and she had to return money.
Wait till she loses the national election. The GOP leaders don't want her.
"Palin appointed all four of the sitting members of the public offices commission."
With those odds...how could she lose?
Fishing expedition??????? Fake prosecution of stevens. What next.
Fake prosecution of Stevens? He was prosecuted and there was plenty of evidence that he was guilty. I'm betting if he was prosecuted again, he would be found guilty again. He got off on a technicality because of bad behavior from Bush appointed attorneys. Personally I have always thought that they committed the misconduct on purpose to give Stevens a way out if the was convicted.
Yes, he was prosecuted by the republican AG. The republican lawyers botched the case against Stevens. That is why Holder the Democrat AG had to dismiss the case. Stevens should be eternally grateful to the dems. Glad I have a great memory.
In what respect, Charlie?

Democrates are bound and determinded to destroy any and all Republicans. Period. What they don't understand is, it's just a matter of time when all their little devilish secrets will be out of the closets. They are not saints. Can't wait to watch that happen.
Au contraire.
Democrats are not "bound and determinded to destroy any and all Republicans"; they - and we Independents - are, instead, bound and determined to see to it that the Republicans do not destroy America in their race to destroy themselves.
HA HA that's funny. Not
Oh, like Republicans aren't bound to destroy Democrats. Gimme a break!
The R's are like the baseball player who blames the media for getting caught using an illegal sub. It doesn't matter to them that they used it, and are guilty, it matters that they got caught, and who exposed them.
Are you kidding? They do it themselves, we Dems just have to sit back an laugh. And there is so much comedy in the Republiklans world. And yes we laugh at our own when they f uc k up
THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE CLINTONS . HA HA H AH A. MADE UP CHARGES THAT PUT THEM IN DEBT. BY POLITICAL ENEMIES. LETS SEE IF PALIN ADMITTS AS MUCH.
