They should support the Revolution.

The reason that Playboy readership is down is because of the new competition- internet porn. Lots of nudity and you don't have to pretend that you go to the pornsites to "read the articles."

The Internet has conquered all.

If Playboy was smart, they would wind up their magazine, go entirely online, and offer 100% hardcore filth to subscribers.

Playboy had a good run but they've fallen behind the tech curve. Porn is much more available now thanks to the Internet. And the once insightful articles and fiction Playboy presented every month has also fallen off the radar. I liked the magazine but I haven't bought one in thirty years or more. They're just over. Move on.

Playboy is done for. Two things vaulted Playboy to popularity: 1. Nude women and 2. Smart hip articles. On the nudity front, Playboy is caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. It's full frontal nudity keeps off the magazine racks, so it is unable to compete with likes of Maxim. Nor can it compete with the freely available variety of the internet. When it comes to the writing, no print periodical can compete with the internet/blogsphere when it comes to edgy articles. Turn out the lights, the party's over.

They were over years ago. I'm surprised that the mag is still around. They can't compete with the internet.

There's this thing called the internet now. If a guy wants to see pictures of naked women you go to google, switch off the old safety filter, and search away.

Playboy sucks. It has the same looking women, fake breats, blonde, white. Too much photoshop.

Giving yourself a handjob got cheaper with the internet. A printout of a naked beauty can be taken to the toilet for the cost of the paper. Playboy magazine has to rely on its stories alone for readership. But that is not enough to overcome the bargain hunters.

Playboy if you're listening the reason I stopped my subscription (over 10 years ago) is because I couldn't stand viewing women with fake oversized t i t s any longer. These plastic monstrocities demean women and defile their natural beauty. Not only is it not sexy, it is downright ugly. Why you insist on photographing this fakery is beyond me.

You're probably in the minority on this. The statistics (# of procedures done a year) actually indicate that breast implants are gaining in popularity, if anything. The porn industry as a whole has been seeing fairly significant growth over the last decade and they're awash in augmented ladies.

More likely, Playboy magazine is declining because of the competition from other more immediate, more hardcore materials. As a magazine, it suffers from the same disadvantage that most print media suffers from (high cost of production, lack of immediacy) but also lacks, say, a Newsweek's gravitas in its articles. More importantly, it now has to compete with video porn (often far more explicit) on both the internet and on-demand television. So, I really don't see adult men's magazines as a good growth business.

Excellent, that was, oh wait. You didn't mean that as a double-entendre?
