What's the point? Who eats raw pork? In the United States pork, as in other countries, is treated as if it is infected with trichinosis, which it largely is. This disease involves a parasitic worm which causes great internal havoc to humans as well as other animals. It is a terrible disease. So, we all cook our pork through before consuming it.

I'm a vegetarian, but I do have family that still eats meat:( (Not that I haven't shared what I know with them to try to get them to stop eating it) when reports kept saying pork is safe, but to me pork is never safe so their words were not reassurance to me. I already knew the report would come that OOPS we were wrong, and expected it to be at the cost of a few lives in the process. Local grocery stores have been for weeks offering very LOW prices for this meat trying to sale as much of it as possible before anymore fear spread, and the news was forced to report eating it isn't as safe as they said it was!

If you are eating raw pork then getting the swine flu is probably the least of your problems...

...except the warning is about handling raw pork, which some people do before cooking.

That's why if you have to handle raw pork, or any raw meat, you should wash your hands afterwards,...

Common sense is,... again,... apparently not so common?
