DNC Plays Whack-A-Mole With GOP In Latest Web Ad

The latest in DNC mockery of the Republican Party was released on Tuesday night in the form of a Web ad playing off of the GOP's staleness and internal frictions.

The "GOP Whack-A-Mole" spot is, in terms of theme, a reproduction of the line the DNC has been pushing for the past week; perhaps even longer. But it gets to the increasingly obvious subplot.

For the time being, both Dick Cheney and the Democratic Party have a shared objective, to elevate the former vice president to a larger role. What's aiding the process is the fact that few, if anyone, in the GOP is poised to eclipse Cheney on the national stage. As a Democratic operative reminded the Huffington Post: House Minority Whip Eric Cantor has approval ratings only slightly higher than the former vice president. Moreover, he's not known outside his home state, with 48 percent of respondents (according to a recent Rasmussen Poll) saying they didn't have enough knowledge of the Virginia Republican to form an opinion.
