Keith Olbermann WTF Moment: Miss California Carrie Prejean (VIDEO)

Keith Olbermann debuted a new and recurring segment on his show tonight called "Countdown's WTF Moment." The first WTF moment centered on Miss California Carrie Prejean, who was thrust into the public eye after she expressed opposition to gay marriage during the Miss America pageant. (Donald Trump, the pageant owner, said in a press conference today that Ms. Prejean would be allowed to keep her crown despite the fact that several racy and previously undisclosed photos have come to light.)

Olbermann expressed astonishment at Ms. Prejean's claim that Satan was trying to tempt her when Perez Hilton asked her the question regarding gay marriage, cast a dubious eye on her claims to have been betrayed by the photographer who snapped the semi-nude photos, and rebutted her statement that her free speech rights have been attacked and that she has been punished for taking a stand.

I don't hate Olberman, but I do think he is skin-crawlingly boring and not out to enlighten anyone, but out to gain personal fame and money. He, along with some others on MSNBC and Fox, put an ideology over the truth. I don't care who runs the country, as long as it is done well. People like Keith, with his out of control rants and snide remarks, insult a lot of Americans, and O'Reily does the same thing on his show, albeit with better ratings and more taste. I just can't imagine anyone over six taking Olbermann seriously.

O'Reilly lies about his own childhood and past. His mother has even said publicly that Bill's a liar.

WTF is a new mantra for the American public. Many say that this news story is not important, however it brings to light once again, how our values and morals decay with every illicit move made by corporate America. It never amounts to how we play only that we win. My nephews take a man like Donald Trump and make him their role model. He is successful and it does not matter how many bankruptcies he files or how he bends the rules. Trump is using this to promote his interests in the entertainment world. It is ironic that little miss crybaby can not see that she in her right to freedom of speech, is condemning a segment of the population and their rights to exercise their freedom. Oberman delivers the message in an aggressive and humorous style, but it is basically a sad commentary on our social ills that most of us ignore and that folks is why corporate America has us by the gonads so to speak....wtf

Why does he think he gets to make a pronouncement like, "marriage is between a man and a woman." Shouldn't he say, "marriage is between a man and one woman at a time, as many times as he can afford?"

I'm a big fan of Olbermann and Countdown. BUT I don't really like the segment, Keith's not at his best when he goes so far over the top. Besides, "WTF" is okay on a blog but it's a little too much on TV, just doesn't seem like a TV phrase.

Prejean talks like Nathan Lane dressed up as Mrs. Goldman in The Birdcage. Exactly what Gene Hackman, playing a conservative Senator, most loves about her. I'm waiting for Donald Trump to begin dancing in drag to top this story off.
