Bolivia controls nearly half of the world's reserves of lithium, a metal crucial for electric cars and other alternative energy technologies. But who will benefit from this discovery is creating controversy.

Worldfocus' Ivette Feliciano, Bryan Myers and Ara Ayer venture to the "Salar de Uyuni" -- the largest salt flat in the world, and one that may turn out to be the key to Bolivia's future economic growth.

The president of Bolivia isn't bowing to pressure to give up his country's lithium at dirt cheap, unfair prices - look for propaganda to make him the next nasty world dictator.

If you haven't read the book "Confessions Of An Economic Hit Man" - then you're missing the prophetic information of what awaits President Morales.

He is already being painted as a dictator by Bolivia's right wing. It will be difficult to believe, given the fact that he is the most legitimate leader Bolivia has had in 500 years. Nobody has ever been elected by over 50% of the people in that country. Before Evo, governments were made through coalitions of parties, none of which got over 50% of the vote. Of course Evo has his mistakes and he is not perfect, but he is probably the best leader Bolivia has ever had.

What a sad world we live in when we allow corporations, in pursuit of the fulfillment of their own greed, to dictate world policy.

"According to the Annual Report on Human Rights by the US Department of State, presented by Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State of that country, there have been problems with respect to human rights in Bolivia. According to the report indications of human rights violations have "been detected," mentioning "arbitrary" detentions, threats to civil rights, attacks by the executive branch on judicial power, and poor jail conditions, amongst others in the government of President Juan Evo Morales Ayma."

Sounds like the U.S. over the last 8 years
