Miss Tiffany Universe Transsexual Beauty Pageant (PHOTOS)

The Miss Tiffany Universe took place in Thailand on Saturday.

According to the photo captions on the Getty images below, the contest has been running for 12 years, and all of the contestants are transsexuals or transvestites. In Thailand transsexuals are considered a third gender given the Thai name 'Katoey.'

the concept of a third gender is as old as history itself and it is the way that peoples throughout the world incorporated the "differently gendered" into their culture and society -- this was also true amongst many of the native american populations of the U.S. -- these persons were revered and respected as spiritual teachers and community leaders because of their unique access to "both sides" of life in this world of dualities

sadly, this enlightened (and logical) approach to gender differences and homosexuality has been pretty much destroyed thanks to the unenlightened, self-righteous, hypocritical and sanctimonious "teachings" of christianity

This strikes me as "same old same old" in that this is nothing more than a sideshow of oddities. In the 19th century, it was bearded ladies. In the 21st century, its THIS.

No. Respectfully, this is old the ignorant viewpoint. First of all, many of these people are, in fact, physically transgendered - "wanting" is not the issue. For most, if not all, of the others, it is simply who they are based on simple brain chemistry. If you are interested in what research has already been done, you should look it up. You will be surprised at what you find.

The identities of these women are perfectly natural. It is our cultural aversion to them which needs to change. You would not be uncomfortable with this if you had simply been raised to believe that there was nothing wrong with it.

Wow, they really look gorgeously feminine! Mind you, I suppose it does help that they're Asians; on average, have very little body and facial hair, as well as a slender built.

On the other hand, my "missing link" partner, who has hair in places I thought it would never be possible for any human to have, would have a much harder time trying to look like a woman...
