The Daily Star :

TEHRAN: Iran's leading authority accused the United States on Tuesday of promoting terrorism in border areas and using arms and money against the Islamic state, in his latest verbal attack on Tehran's arch enemy. Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's comments in a televised speech are likely to further disappoint the US administration of President Barack Obama, which is seeking rapprochement with Iran after three decades of mutual mistrust.

This guy is accusing the U.S. of the same things Iran has been found guilty of in Iraq. Funneling arms and manpower into Iraq to be used on American soldiers. The people of Iran need to get rid of their current leadership now.

He is somewhat correct as Bush funded covert operations (which incuded arming separatists to the teeth). And thus far Obama has no backed away it seems.

I agree. And stunts like the one you link to are supposed to help the Iranian people how exactly? In a slightly better world we'd have the ruling IRI mullahs behind bars as criminals, but the actions of the US against Iran since 1953 have been war crimes at times and counter productive always from a human rights standpoint.

I concur with both of you.

Rome was not built in a day. And does this talk surprise me? of course not. Besides, it is best to be out in the open with Iran on a diplomatic front. Anything we touch there becomes toxic. I would rather make an outright liar of the mullahs than give them ammunition for their half-truths.

There is no sane person to deal with in Iran. I hope Israel takes out their nuke facilities sooner rather than later.

Thank you for demonstrating that most Americans can't learn from history. Go research "Nixon Crazy tactic" and see how Nixon dealt with the Soviets.

Yes, but when America does it then it isn't terrorism, just like when we torture it isn't torture. Fox News told me so.

Sy Hersh had this story a while ago, actually. The Bush administration was backing known terrorist groups in Iran in an effort to provoke war or at least destabilize their regime.

Iran demonstrated remarkable restraint. Can you imagine if the New Yorker reported on Iranian-backed terror groups trying to destabilize the U.S. government in the name of their nation security?

Hello World War Three!

Meanwhile, never forget that the CIA overthrew the pro-Western democratically-elected leader of Iran back in 1953 using... wait for it... terrorism!

That's right, folks. And why would they have done that?

Because Iran's president wanted to take back Iran's oil fields from the British, who were ripping the nation off and refused to re-negotiate a more equitable partnership.

So the upstart had to go. In his place, we put in a brutal dictator fond of torture, the Shah. Good times!

Yeah, sure he is. Because he's given us so many reasons to trust him in the past hasn't he?
