Black Eyed Peas Censored During 'American Idol'

LOS ANGELES — Fox TV says a moment of silence during the Black Eyed Peas performance on `American Idol' wasn't the network's doing.

Midway through the song "Boom Boom Pow," TV viewers heard only silence and saw an "Idol" logo across the screen for a few moments. A Fox spokesman said it was singer will.i.am's decision to stay mum, apparently to keep an expletive from airing during Wednesday's performance.

The two-hour finale of "American Idol" featured a lineup of pop stars, including the Black Eyed Peas, Cyndi Lauper and Keith Urban.

Finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen were vying for the "Idol" title.

When you have people who can vote hundreds of times for one candidate, then the fix is in. FOX is up to their old shenanigans again. Adam is a STAR many times over. His personality alone makes him a star and let's not even talk about his talent. He's the BEST singer EVER on American Idol and I'm ashamed of the the finagling that has been done behind the scenes for such a mediocre talent.

Adam is excitement. Kris is a sleeping pill. One of my evangelical cousins bragged to me that she voted 2000 times for Kris. And all her friends and immediate family did too. Because Kris is a christian.

Uhh, Adam didn't win because he has only one talent.. stick out his tounge and scream the same note. He can't even change the note. His renditions were pretty cool but that screetch he does ruins EVERY song he/she sings. He even butchered a freakin' aerosmith song and tyler screams in it.. but tyler screamed more than one note.. that would be the difference.

Sorry Idol haters that finale was the best music performance show of the year! It put the Grammys to shame. There were some sensational moments! Queen should hook up with Adam and hit the road. Even KISS was good!

I am sure some reporter will find that emails and twitters went out to the evangelicals who then voted over and over for this closet case. I never watch Idol and never heard either of them singing until I saw parts of it live on a flight from the east coast last night. Lame, is being nice. That this little piece of toast could be the "winner" over Adam is absurd and anyone with ears could hear that. In fact, there were other mail singers that were eliminated that were far better than Kris.

Don't cry for Adam. He'll get the big career while Kris will end up playing the chitlin' 'n church circuit.

Please explain how ONE person can win when the EACH had the same number of dedicated phone lines with presumably the same speed, the same window of voting and we were unable to get through for the duration of the voting two hours. You could vote for FOUR hours for the final. Or did you miss that? I had trouble getting through the first two hours, but after 11 p.m., when most of the young kids had gone to bed, I got through quite a bit for Adam.

how many people voted for Danny, Allison and other idols that never voted for Adam?... the number is probably very high. And with Adam dividing fans of the show so sharply, I'm sure all those people who never voted for him, so they voted for Kris. Maybe its was as simple as that. i don't know.

What I wish would happen in the near future: someone from Fox, maybe a former upset employee, steals all the voting records of the 8 seasons and leaks them to the world. I bet everyone would die to see that stuff.

Jennifer Hudson and Clay Aiken have major careers and they were the "losers". Adam will have the career and the white-bread little voice of little Kris will be heard on the church circuit, that is, until he comes out of the closet.

Great winners with tons of success: Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, David Cook. Winners that are doing well: Jordin Sparks, Fantasia. Winners that stunk: Ruben Studdard and Taylor HIcks (although he is now touring with Grease). There are many doing fantastic who didn't win, most notably Daughtry, and also Bo Bice, Clay Aiken, Jennifer Hudson, Ellliot Yamin, and Kellie Pickler.

I wanted Adam to win and I won't buy/listen to Kris because I don't appreciate his style of music. He is a great kid, but for me (for him), kind of meh. I guess we'll see. Just glad that Adam didn't have to sing that stinko "No Boundaries" winner song.
