MSNBC:

Although the Minnesota Supreme Court won't begin hearing arguments in the never-ending Norm Coleman vs. Al Franken recount until June 1, there are two new developments to report.

First, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has committed $750,000 to help Coleman pay his legal bills. A Republican official insists that this money is to help pay past legal bills -- not future ones that might be incurred if Coleman decides to take his case to the U.S. Supreme Court. It's worth pointing out that this $750,000 isn't chump change.

[ "Top Coleman Fundraiser: "Hell, Yeah," Seat Is Better Empty "]

Kind of says it all, doesn't it?

Nothing is more important to the Rethuglicans than the Party.

Not even the country.

Grrrr..... The GOP is buying an empty Democratic seat, which is worth a lot to them at the moment. Can't ANYONE do ANYTHING about this?

From: November 5, 2008:

U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman today gently suggested that Democrat Al Franken
concede the U.S. Senate race to him, thereby beginning the healing process.

"The prospects of overcoming 725 votes is extremely, extremely, extremely,
extremely remote", said Coleman, speaking at his campaign office in St.
Paul late this morning.

"If you ask me what I would do, I would step back", said Coleman.

"My hope is that we would begin the healing process today", said Coleman of
closing the political divides in the state and nation.

========

Time to take your own advice, Norm. Give it up. We don't want to pay your lawyers.
Thanks for playing. You lose.

The DNC can't run this in MN or anywhere else! They have their very own DSC that does the exact same thing the GOP does. I've been solicited many times by the DSC seeking donations for Senate candidates in trouble. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander!

The Republican Separatist Party is trying to buy a senatorial seat. It is time to seat Senator Franken and move on.

Governor Palin needs help with her legal fees; oh, I forgot, no seat to buy.

Should Coleman not be held responsible and made to pay the legal bills of Franken too?

He does have to pay Franken's legal bills if he loses his appeal. I think he had to put the money in escrow before he appealed to the Supreme Court.

Cool, the way I see it the people in Minnesota shouldn't have to pay half their taxes this year since they have no representation. It's called taxation w/out representation. It'll be nice if we ever use the constitution again.

ONE good thing is coming out of this whole nightmare... at least for me.

I for one never DREAMED this could happen in MY Country and it be LEGAL.

I never thought I would see THOUSANDS of people who like me ALWAYS believed that if there were a natural disaster I could depend on my Government to help me and leave me to die on a rooftop of starvation.

I never thought I would see a President so obviously un-intelligent make it into office and be enabled to start a war and change the honorable philosophy that earned MY country and enviable reputation and global respect. ALL based on proven Lies. And get away with it.

All this done by a Hateful party called Republicans.

This is NOT the Country that 3 Generations of my Family have fought in Combat to preserve.

We deserve it back.

Could you imagine the outrage if the situation was reversed? He has lost, and the republican party is again stalling progress and democracy. It is getting old. The senate should seat him, and the court should get it over with, if not get a court and senate that will. We have let democracy slip second after second in this country and it needs to stop. Also, when this is all done if it's ever done, the MN governor should be impeached.

All they are showing is that their case is frivolous and groundless, and I hope they end up having to pay Franken's legal fees and costs. The courts are not there for politicians to play political games. Whether they pretend to have claims or not, the courts have the knowledge and the power to teach them a lesson about what they are doing.

It is disgusting to have people who supposedly support our Constitution stomping on it as they will until someone kicks the buttkus of the govenor to change this. Actual people have voted for representation in the Congress these idiots purport to be wanting Coleman to be seated in when he lost the election. Where is the justice or the Constitutional rights for the voters who deserve the representation? Is this helping the GOP and their image? Is this what we as voter should expect when the "wrong guy" wins and the GOP doesn't like it? Is there anyone who can put this to rights or are the voters to continue to suffer these idiots?

When have the republican ever cared about legality, they make up the rules as they go along. Remember Newt and the "Contract on America"? The want business to run the country (oligarchy), and what's the worse they have suceeded so for, look at health care refrom, the environment, fuel and renewable energy, credit card reform , the list just gets longer as long as they can get elected.
They get money from the big corperations so the corporations can abuse the consumer some more, (greed), and whats really bad about this farce is that we let them. We need to vote these corporate dupes out of office.OK I'll be fair, there dupes on the left too.
