Pakistan Expanding Nuclear Sites, Shows New Satellite Images (Photos)

Following the testimony of Admiral Mike Mullen last Thursday and a Sunday New York Times report, both of which confirmed that Pakistan has been expanding its nuclear facilities, the Pakistani information minister has issued an official statement of denial. According to Dawn:

In Islamabad, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira denied that assertion that Pakistan is expanding its nuclear arsenal. 'Pakistan does not need to expand its nuclear arsenal but we want to make it clear that we will maintain a minimum nuclear deterrence that is essential for our defense and stability,' he told a US media outlet. 'We will not make any compromise.'

However in two May 19, 2009 Institute for Science and International Security reports, titled "Pakistan Expanding Dera Ghazi Khan Nuclear Site" and "Pakistan Expanding Plutonium Separation Facility Near Rawalpindi", David Albright, Paul Brannan and Robert Kelley use satellite images dated between 2002 and 2008 (depending on the site) to clearly show the comprehensive development of once relatively inchoate nuclear sites.
