It could be because obese people often overproduce insulin and insulin lowers your bodies ability to fight off this flu.

Or it could be because obese people are less likely to have exercised regularly and their lungs are in worse condition than those of lower weight (plus the pushing on the lungs by other organs and fa of obese people).
