I Like ItI Don’t Like It

True to form, Rush Limbaugh today said he hopes Sonia Sotomayor fails.

Sotomayor, a federal appeals court judge who was first appointed to the bench by Republican George H. W. Bush, is President Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court. Her nomination was announced at a press conference this morning. Hours later, Limbaugh was lashing out on his radio show:

Do I want her to fail? Yeah. Do I want her to fail to get on the court? Yes. She'd be a disaster on the Court.

Do I still want to Obama to fail as President? Yeah, -- AP, you getting this?

He's gonna fail anyway, but the sooner the better here so that as little damage can be done to the country.

Yeah, good ol' Rush Limbaugh...the gift that keeps on giving.

Limbaugh must own the station that he rants and raves on. Surely no sane station manager would keep him on the air.

If you care to, you could google past reports about his high listener "numbers" which have been proved to my satisfaction to be a scam. He pitches his high numbers as a way of selling advertising, but his numbers are trey dubious.

I feel sorry for his listeners. In my personal experience many are disenfranchised, young laborers on their way to work and listening in their cars. They also listen as they drywall and roof..just for instance. Someone should do an independent study on who they are. My hypotheses is that his average listener does not get newspapers, has little contact with the internet and may not even subscribe to cable tv. We need to get these people broadband. Talk about a needed public works program!

Rush, listen to your mama and don't talk with your mouth full of food. In other words, don't talk.

Love how Limbaugh thinks he can get away with anything by adding a little disclaimer at the end. He didn't end with "I want her to fail" but added the tagline "...on the court."

Same with Obama. Not "I want him to fail" But "I want his policies to fail.' Doesnt make a bit of difference, but for some reason, LImbaugh is actually scared to simply state "I want him/her to fail" without adding a softer touch at the end. Deep down, he's just a scared little wimpy fellow. If he wants someone to fail, just come out and say it. He should be man enough to deal with the consequences.

A little known fact about Karl Rove: In the fall of 1970, Rove used a false identity to enter the campaign office of Democrat Alan J. Dixon, who was running for Treasurer of Illinois. He stole 1000 sheets of paper with campaign letterhead, printed fake campaign rally fliers promising "free beer, free food, girls and a good time for nothing", and distributed them at rock concerts and homeless shelters, with the effect of disrupting Dixon's rally. And then he quit college in 1971 and never graduated.....pathetic!

Welcome to right wing meritocracy! It is not only Rove who is a drop out but so is the Guru Rush Limbaugh. I think the crybaby Glenn Beck is also another drop out but I am not quite sure. Then there is Dick Cheney who flanked out of one of the Ivy Leagues (I think it was either Yale or Harvard), He letter graduated from Wyoming. And there is Sarah Palin, It took her five schools before she was able to get a degree from the University of Idaho. These are the leaders of the Republican party who are trashing Judge Sotomayor, a graduate of Princeton (summa cum laude) and Yale Law School. It would take a creative genius of a George Orwell to expose the absurdity of the current American conservative movement led by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck.

And unlike nearly everyone else who flunked out of college at the time, was not declared 1A and shipped off to boot camp and Vietnam immediately there after.

Which is a real shame. he might have learned something.

You have to feel sorry for the GOP, a classic case of a "chicken running around with its head cut off."

The Republicans having no vision, no message, no leadership is left with the mess of the Bush -Cheney rein of ineptitude and can only resort to objecting to anything and everything the Democrats do.

The keeping the economy from total failure, helping the banks and auto companies, economic help to the states and people, the closing of GITMO and now a new supreme court justice have been reacted to like a spoiled child who did not make the baseball team.

The GOP is no longer a "political party" it is a collection of people in the minority who see their only path to success is yelling about any Democrat that makes the newspaper or the news on any given day.

The Republicans with the biggest mouths are doing the biggest damage to those Republicans who hope to be competitive in the blue and marginal states. This is ugly to watch.

Joseph Palermo had this to say on HuffPo Mar 18, 2009: It is worth repeating here.

The Obama Administration's Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and a revivified Anti-Trust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice could pursue all sorts of reforms that would open up the nation's political discourse. A few minor changes in the rules and regulations governing the public airwaves and corporate media consolidation could transform the political economy of the media sector. Such reforms would make it more difficult for networks to shove people like Cheney, Rove, and Fleischer down our throats because enhanced competition would mean that rivals might be broadcasting more attractive fare. Breaking up Rupert Murdoch's empire (starting with revoking the waiver that allows him to own the New York Post), and busting up Clear Channel's monopoly of radio would be a good place to start. Congress, working with the Obama Administration, could then revisit the odious Telecommunications Act of 1996 and remove or rework its worst provisions.

Please let this happen. Limbaugh is getting way too much attention. Focus on his boss.

Rupert Murdoch's Clear Channel is a Big Trust that needs to be broken up. That will take care of Rush and friends. Any news from the trust-busting arena lately? I'd rather know about that than what RL's latest diatribe is. He's gossip. Murdoch's empire is news.

Trust me. This man is near the end of his 15 minutes. He's obese, he's insane, he's a heartbeat away from "buying the farm" - if you know what I mean.
He's set on auto pilot to self destruct. It's just a matter of time.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he's not using and abusing again!
He's got all the characteristics of someone that is addicted - he's showing it more and more in his words and actions.
Trust me when I say....it's just a matter of time and he will be an enigma in our lives....and then Glenn Beck will be the next to go.....

For a man to have so much and yet be so full of hate is a testament to his own self-loathing. Pity him.
