I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Keith Olbermann interviewed conservative radio host Erich "Mancow" Muller tonigh about his experience being waterboarded. Mancow said he agreed to be interviewed because Olbermann is a "stand up guy" for agreeing to donate $10,000 to a charity benefiting veterans (an offer previously extended to Sean Hannity) after Mancow was waterboarded.

Mancow reaffirmed that the practice was indeed torture and said that his "psychological state" going into the experiment was that he was "laughing at it. I was willing to prove, and ready to prove, that this was a joke, and I was wrong. It was horrific. It was instantaneous. And look, I felt the effects for two days."

Mancow also revealed that his friend Sean Hannity "called me and said 'it's still not torture.'"

1) Olberman doesn't give a crap about any "victims" of any "torture." He cares about ratings. 2) Abu Zubaydah was a little more intense about his hatred for America than Mancow was about his radio stunt, and so withstood being waterboarded 83 times to keep from talking. 3) Mancow is a wuss compared to Zubaydah, and more of a wuss than most other Islamic extremists and therefore couldn't take more than five seconds of the treatment.

All of you "compassionate" and "loving" liberals are some of the most nasty and foul-mouthed haters I've ever heard.

this guy wasn't even waterboarded, they use a tube stuffed down your mouth and taped then pour water into it, the victim is bound and unable to stop the process, if he thought what he went through was torture just imagine......

Looks like the whole thing may have been a publicity stunt and Olbey knew this at the time of the interview.

Mancow was the first to predict that people would try to discredit his waterboarding experience. How pathetic...

We are only reading it in his own words.

It is refreshing to witness skeptical critics like Mancow willing to back up their opinions with actions that could actually bring some new perspective.

And what would you be saying if his conclusion was that it wasn't torture..would you be willing to change your mind? Would you be as open and honest?

Knowing what I know about waterboarding and knowing that it IS torture he would not change my mind - but my hat would be off to him for being one tough S.O.B..

People have pedged many thousands for Hannity to do it. If its not torture, why can’t Hannity endure a few seconds of water boarding to help the people who gave their arms, legs, and lives for a war he helped sell? Clearly, either Sean Hannity is the biggest coward in the world, or he hates the troops. But hey... who wants to see Hannity gently sobbing after soiling himself... that is best kept in private as it is today.

Kudos to Olbermann for donating the money and Mancow for admitting he was wrong. I wish Hannity would step up.. We know it won't happen, but dare to dream.

Also: to the mods.. thanks for clearing out the troll droppings from earlier tonight.. It was pretty bad and a lot of us good posters were flaming back at every opportunity.. It was distracting and I think it is better to not see any of it :)

I invite all everyone to please help sign a petition to Sean Hannity encouraging him to go through with what he said he was going to do. Especially since it's for charity. The link to the petition can be found on my blog, @ http://jasonblogz.com/?p=282

Sean is a wimp and the world knows it. I think Sean might be figuring that out about himself about now. Watching others man up and admit when they were wrong (and also walk the walk).

Keith has stumbled upon a brilliant business plan: lots of money for charities and conservative pundits get tortured. What's not to like about this model?

He calls it torture - and he's surrounded by friends and employees.
He knows he can stop it at any moment.
Imagine what it is like for someone to experience this surrounded by people screaming at them, who may or may not stop.

Furthermore, imagine being tied down and unable to simply get up and stop it.

Even further.. Not having done anything wrong or having any real information to give. Oh and your torturer is a "good old boy" that used to maim animals when he was a child.

Kudos for Keith to donate the $10,000 when one of Mancow's people called Keith and said they had [incorrectly] heard he had offered that amount, particularly when that wasn't his original offer to Hannity: the offer was $1000 per second Hannity could withstand waterboarding.

And one thing left out of the equation about waterboarding or any other form of torture is this: if we do it to our enemies, it is a greater incentive not only for them to do it to our soldiers whom they capture, but also makes enemy soldiers or combatants less likely to surrender -- for fear they will be badly treated -- and more likely to fight to the bitter end. German soldier in WWII surrendered to the US, even wanted to surrender to the US vs. the Soviets towards the end of the war, because they heard that Americans treated their POWs well while they heard the Russians brutalized their enemies. If we keep up the torture and Gitmo policies, that will not be the case. This was one of the reasons for instigating the Geneva Conventions: you would treat your enemies' soldiers humanely if they surrendered or were captured to ensure your own soldiers were would be treated humanely if they were captured. People supporting torture either are ignorant of this or don't care about how US soldiers will be treated if captured. Cheney clearly doesn't care.

Gotta tip my hat to Keith this time. Nice job. Hopefully more in upcoming shows????

I dig Keith...yeah, we know you hard right wingers can't stand him for calling you out over and over .......but this might be the first conservative guest he has ever had on. But Keith doesn't go around promising to be Fair and Balanced. If you watch his show its hard to argue that he presents facts and he lets the neo-cons do most of the damage to themselves with their own words (not out of context).
Thanks for keeping torture in the news Keith...I was sick of the topic for a while but now realize how important it is. Thanks Mancow for manning up too.

A bit too long on praise for the Big O; and a little to brief in acknowledgment to Mancow.
Mancow was the one to reverse a position; not to mention being waterboarded.
