President Obama's nomination of Sonia Sotomayor could make history - if confirmed, she would be the first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice.

Technically, Sotomayor may not qualify as the first - Justice Benjamin Cardozo was a descendant of Spanish or Portuguese Jews who immigrated to America.
