Biden Cracks Joke About Obama Teleprompter

Then, not content to leave without a jaunty ad lib, Biden noted that heavy winds were gusting through the ceremonies. One of his two teleprompters had toppled over. Alluding to the jokes of Obama's reliance on the speech-facilitators, Biden added, "What I am going to tell the president when I tell him his teleprompter is broken. What will he do then."

People - Biden was making a joke about the RW talking heads and their obsession with Obama's teleprompter.

It was quite funny, and that's what I love about Biden...his quick wit.

Didn't President Obama make a joke along the same lines during the recent correspondent's dinner? I thought Mr. Obama's self-jab was funny too. I tend to believe these two gentlemen laugh at the absurdities and inappropriate emphasis the rest of us place on things. It was just funny.

Speaking of more important things: I was fortunate to be a part of the Air Force One (yay) conference call on healthcare reform to volunteers earlier today. Very cool; President Obama is very cool indeed, but we knew that, as is Plouffe and the other staff. (wanted to hear AF1's jet engines ;-).

In his first 100 days, Biden used extensive foreign policy experience (his strongest area) visiting, (Iraq/Pakistan/Afghanistan), Brussels, Munich, Costa Rica, Chile, just returning from historic visit to Balkans (Kosovo, Albania, Serbia), Lebanon; awarded Kosovo's Golden Medal of Freedom; at WH Biden has met with (among others) French PM Fillon, Haitian PM Pierre-Louis, Japanese PM Abe, Jordan's King Abdullah II, Karzai, Talibani, and Zardari; Joe used experience as Senate Judiciary Chair to advise and vet new SC Justice nominee; speech at Munich Sicherheitskonferenz; AIPAC speech; received three honorary degrees/gave commencement speeches at Syracuse, Wake Forest, USAF Academy; headlined NAN; leadership of the middle class task force and economic recovery act implementation for which he continuously makes appearances; wrote op-eds, which ran in 11 Latin American NPs, wrote for USA Today; honored and advocated for our troops at numerous venues; honored by the Sons of Italy Foundation at its National Education & Leadership Awards; and fundraising for DNC. This is a very short list and it's only been 100+ days. Biden will hit his stride soon.

Given the fact that NONE of the MSM bothered to question anything during the run up to the Iraq war. Never questioned Bush, Cheney or any of the other criminals who lied this country into war... in fact, they cheerleaded us into an unjust war.... not to mention all of the countless lies, crimes and wrongdoings of the Bush administration that were NEVER talked about or even mentioned, I'm thinking they're never going to start asking real questions.

BTW, where were you when the Bush crime family was spending us into oblivion? Only they never bothered to invest any of that money back into the country. Their rich friends benefited and we all lost.

It's funny, you look at pics of people meeting the current POTUS and VP, and they are shaking hands and smiling.

You look at pics of ppl meeting the last POTUS (especially in the past couple years), and sure they are shaking hands, but the people always looked like they were thinking "Get this guy away from me"

Although I understand your concern, I think Biden was making the joke in light of the fact that the teleprompter thing is something the repugs think they "have" on him. I hardly think the President needs our defense regarding something so trivial as the telemprompter thing.

Obama doesn't need defending; he's exceptionally smart and a grown up, and if he chooses to use a teleprompter, good for him. If others make it an issue (I mean, how important is this, really?) we can laugh along with Obama and Biden.
