Tina Teixeira: "Hit A Cat, I'LL HIT YOUR KID"

Tina Teixeira of Lodi, California posted a sign with the words, "Hit a cat, I'll hit your kid." Some of her neighbors say they are concerned their kid's lives might be threatened.

"Basically what this is saying is: Hit a cat and I'll hit your kid," sqawks Tina Teixeira.

just why did she put this sign up? I would agree with her though, if my child hit my cat for no reason but to be abusive, HELL YEAH, I will hit my kid more than once.

I have kids, and cats. I love them both... but nobody had better hit either one of them!

I bond with most animals, & have slapped a couple kids for poring lighter fluid on a sweet , innocent, friendly cat & we're trying to light a lighter to set it on fire. I was 6 years old. It got me attacked every single day walking to & from school until 7th grade.
And I'd do it again if I had to. It was worth every hit I took.

I think this thread has conclusively proven two things:

Cruelty to cats is never acceptable or warranted.

Crulety to bat $h1t insane cat owners is completely warranted and should be classed as a public service.

You all got a point and I honestly respect your position. However, if that ia my dog, I would no doubt hit any kid or human beings back... I am sorry for being a crazy dog person, but that's my family. There is absolutely no excuse (may it be a kid or whatever) for anyone who intentionally harm my family.

OMG, just last night in the NYC subway , a huge rat was running down the side of the corridor, everyone moved away from it until this kid (male about 18) gleefully kicked it , flying mid air and I am sure it died....it was such a disturbing thing to see the thrill and glee on his face. He disappeared up the stairwell but I would have said what I was thinking at the moment MAY YOU BE HIT BY A CAR AND GO FLYING THROUGH THE AIR. waste of life that kid!

In South Florida, we have a nut running around killing cats. I don't know if they have
caught him yet. But I, for one, would love to see him spend years in prison. I think this
woman's sign is a bit annoying as it will inspire some to test her by hurting her cats and
second,it's not very clear. Does she mean she'll hit the person who hit her cat (why
would any sane person hit a cat) or she will hit the child of the person who hit her cat.
Sorry, but we animal lovers do go overboard sometimes to protect those who cannot
protect themselves.

People who want to be cruel and abuse dogs or cats are pathetic. Just remember, we had eight years of a President who had a history of being cruel to insect and animal life, as well as human life.
I'm all for what this woman posted in her yard. It's a warning, and if someone in my neighborhood did something to the three cats who are a from my neighbors, and who visit several yards everyday, I'd turn that person in to the SPCA if I knew his or her name.

If she can't take care of her "children" better, perhaps they should be taken away from her.
