Israel Lancho, Spanish Bullfighter Gored (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

Spanish bullfighting fans witnessed the ultimate ring horror on Wednesday when matador Israel Lancho was gored. According to press reports, Lancho had a 25 centimeter-deep stomach wound that surgeons operated on. He's now said to be in serious condition.

It is disgusting to know that people in this civilized world still derive pleasure in patronizing Bull Fighting. What pleasure one can get in murdering a helpless bull by mercilessly poking spears in his body. And what is wrong if once in while a bull triumphs, gores and kills the matador? After all if you call it a sport, both sides must have a chance to win.

Indeed, I am happy to read on CNN News that a matador was gored by a bull in Spain. I know that they will kill the bull who gored the matador. Still I salute that bull who will die like a brave soldier, defending his honor and dignity against the cruel, hypocrite and spineless bastards.

I agree that this should not be a sport, but someone's life is a stake here.

This is not about fairness, we slaughter cows and chickens and all sorts of animals for food, and they don't have a say in the matter; and we can change it by choosing not to eat any of it and still, we don't.

This guy kills one bull, or two, or 30, we kill more people than that by driving our cars to work every day.

Amen. I did a research paper in school about bullfighting, and it is a horribly inhumane "sport" where the bull has no chance of surviving. Even if the bull survives the final sword thrust by the matador, then just boo the guy and then take the bull to an area where they beat him to death with sledge hammers. He's then processed for meat, and most of that ends up in dog food. I understand hanging on to your past, but this is ridiculous!! Why not crank up the Crusades again?? Maybe we can start drawing and quartering convicts....heck, we can hang them in public squares again, so the families can bring picnic baskets and their kids! Grow up, Spain....seriously.

These matadors live off the machismo of the danger, and the glory of killing bulls. Lancho's time to pay the tab for his bloodsport came due. He's been using his cache (I'm stereotyping here) to sleep with all the sexy senoritas (Spain's answer to Baseball wives) and get into all the clubs without getting hassled by the bouncers.
