After several months of delays, a Web site that offers an interactive portfolio of public school students' test scores, grades and attendance rates will be available for all parents by the end of June, the Department of Education said on Thursday.

High stakes testing has driven education out of the class room and replaced it with memorization exercises for weeks. It is no wonder a full half of the fall semester is spent reviewing things the kids should have learned the last year. It's a treadmill and kids know it. So do educational researchers, but nothing changes because it's all a money game. If it was about learning we'd be higher in the rankings among industrialized nations.
