MSNBC and Starbucks have teamed up to make Starbucks the official sponsor of "Morning Joe." Anchors Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have consumed Starbucks products on air since the show launched in 2007, leading network president Phil Griffin to joke to the New York Times, "We've been doing this for free for a couple of years."

The show — which airs from 6-9 AM ET — will now officially be "brewed by Starbucks," and its logo will now include a cup of Starbucks coffee.

The Times describes the arrangement as "the closest integration between an advertiser and a national news program in recent memory."

"We are pleased to be working with MSNBC to further underscore Starbucks relevancy by extending the coffeehouse culture and combining the daily morning coffee ritual with informed discussions about important news topics," Starbucks Chairman Howard Schultz said in a statement.
