Bo VIDEO: Obama Shows Off Dog's Handshake Trick

President Obama opened up the White House to NBC News' Brian Williams, offering the anchor "unbelievable" access to his daily life. In this clip, Obama shows off his puppy Bo, growling with approval when the dog does a handshake trick.

I really enjoyed watching Brian Williams coverage of the Obama White House. The piece definitely shows that our President and his staff are working incredibly hard for the people. His staff was made up of mostly young and a very diverse group of folks. It was nice to see and most impressive was their tireless attitude.

I co-sign that. It was sooo nice to see an intelligent, cohesive staff working together. Contrast that with the Cheney/Bush administration turning against each other. I truly believe that everyone who served in that administration always slept with one eye open.

I thought Bo was suppose to be Malia and Sasha's dog. The First Lady says she walks Bo in the morning and the President walks him at night. Maybe once the girls is out of school for the summer they will take on more responsiblity with Bo. But Bo is a cutie.

We had two dogs our mother walked and trained them while we were in school and doing all our extracurricular activities. We did our part when we could but our mom did most of the work, and we did most of the playing. The funny thing is one of our dogs was my dad dog and my dad did the least with him. The other was my brothers dog, you never know why dogs attached themselves to one family member over the other. Bo has obviously attached himself to MO.

Our first dog, a precious, gorgeous German Shepherd named King, was basically my dad's choice and always considered his dog. I was around 9 when we got him and I always took care of him. He had a very tough gastro system, and even with my school schedule, when King needed to go out at 2 in the morning I did that -- no one had to ask me. After a while King came to me automatically. Was it tough? Yes. Are Malia and Sasha getting a pass? Probably.

School should not be an excuse. My dad worked full-time, I walked him to the train station every day with King, then I went to school, then I walked back up to the train station in the evening with King to meet him at the station.

Too many kids today want a pet but get a pass when it comes to understanding their needs and taking the responsibility for meeting them.

If anything, that Brian Williams piece showed how the Obamas are CONSTANTLY working and problem-solving for the American people at a frenetic pace. I, for one, am very happy that they have a pet and are trying to include as many "normal moments" as they can as a family throughout the day. THEY NEED THAT! And I think the American public needs to see them in moments of levity too. It helps to create some sort of connection and feeling that we can relate to them, even if they are the First Family... Good for them! Bo's adorable. I hope we see more lighthearted pieces like this! I'd much rather see this than doom and gloom 24/7!
