Eminem/Bruno: YES It Was Staged

NEW YORK — The head writer for the MTV Movie Awards has settled the debate: the stunt involving Sacha Baron Cohen and Eminem at the MTV Movie Awards was completely planned.

Comedy writing veteran Scott Aukerman wrote in a posting on his blog that the incident was staged and rehearsed in advance.

At Sunday's award show, Baron Cohen appeared in character as his gay fashionista Bruno. He fell on top of Eminem after being suspended above the crowd. The rapper appeared to find little humor in the stunt and stormed out.

Speculation was rampant over what was and wasn't real. Baron Cohen, Eminem and MTV have yet to comment on it.

Aukerman's posting has since been removed. His manager didn't immediately return a call Tuesday.

I don't care what Cohen's and MTV's motive was for putting on a STUPID stunt like that, all it proves is that noone connected with the MTV network and it's celebes, can come up with something really requiring creativity and class. It is a stunt based on immature middle school bathroom humor? and to continue to put these so called skits on their shows is insulting. MTV by now should do better at putting on better productions of their shows but I guess that requires for people on their production teams to be a grown up mature adults. There is no way Eminem was in on it! He looked totally off guard.
The guys that were with Eminem looked surprised too, they all looked really pissed off. I have viewed and reviewed the video showing the "event" and, no, Eminem was in on it. Again, MTV has shown it can not do better, and Sasha Cohen is still a fool and ignoramus with NO talent.
My apologizes to all middle schoolers in USA, I did not intend to offend them.

There is NO WAY this was staged, I don't believe it for one minute. Eminem is in Hip Hop,
he has fought all his life for respect from his homeys. He would NEVER have ok'ed this.
It has to have been staged by MTV and Cohen, to know where to place him in order
for him to land on Eminem. I believe Eminem was placed in that seat for a reason.

I also believe that Eminem was going to sue, and should, and they are trying to
save face by saying it was staged. Em's a good actor, but not that good...he was
pissed off.

I think you overestimate your understanding of how hip-hop CDs are sold. They don't usually involve gay fantasy but if you want to prove to yourself that Eminem is "worldly" i.e. closeted, by all means... you have a lot of company.

It was obviously "rehearsed", otherwise technically Cohen could never have come down exactly over the chosen seat in that harness. There's no real indication Eminem was in on it though. Anyone who would get in a fight with a sock puppet (Triumph) is an easy mark.

And after the nude wrestling scene in "Borat", Cohen obviously recognizes a comedy keeper bit when he happens upon one.

I thought it was hilarious.
