I Like ItI Don’t Like It

So plenty of people send us animal stories and videos nowadays -- or at least HuffPost Comedy Editor Alex Leo does -- and this one is pretty amazing. I can't decide which part is the most bizarre, so I'm putting it to a poll, which you can find right below the video.

The video, which is about what is allegedly the world's only tame hippo, was paired with this story about a BBC presenter's encounter with a wild hippo.

WATCH:

Quick Poll

What's the strangest part of this video?

The tame hippo

The fact that the lady shares a bed with a hippo

The fart noise at the end

The fact that there aren't more fart noises throughout the video

I've seen Jessica before. There was a segment on animal planet. They were trying to find her a boyfriend so she could get pregnant. It covered her diet (which wasn't good and was improved) and the fact that she is like a housepet. She comes and goes as she pleases and has free reign of the house. She is perfectly tame with her family. But they also worry that if she wanders off away from the yard that she might be killed.

Somehow, the BBC can manage to make a funny story, unfunny.

Yeah they should've applied pancake make up, attached an overgrown pair of shoes and stuck a big red nose on Jessica, that would've been funny.

Stupid BBC!! Trust them to get it wrong.

The hippo is considered by many experts to be the most dangerous animal in sub-saharan Africa~

Anyone remember the Chimp who bit the woman's face off?

Well, hippos are huge, aggressive, and can bite a crocodile's face off.

So this will probably end well.

This hippo may not have the frontal lobage in his brain to actually focus and pay attention to the humans and behave accordingly to fit in the human family like dogs, for example. Dogs are big sometimes but we control their minds. Domestic kittehs have a smaller frontal lobe but they are small so they are safe--that's why kittehs do not find you relevant to their interests most of the time while dogs fall all over themselves to please you.

Wild animals lack the frontal lobage to care about impressing the human. You'd think wolves would be adoptable by humans, but no way. They see no reason to consider you the pack leader. They will challenge you and it may not end well. I don't know much about hippos but I can't see any reason why this animal wont turn on her eventually.

Hippos do live in groups in the wild, so their reaction to humans when acclimated to them at birth is similar to an elephant's -- when others of its species are missing (or reject the animal because it doesn't belong to their group), the animal is compelled to bond with humans not because we're awesome, but because it is hardwired for highly interdependent socialization.

Having raised, loved, and been adored by a 98% wolfdog whose father had been rescued from a fur factory, and a 87% third generation from wild wolfdog, I can categorically tell you, you don't know what you're talking about.

Fake noise at the end.

That noise is caused by the smacking of cheeks. Pull em apart and youll get a pooh noise instead.

Hippos dont have cheeks. Noise wouldn't be a pwbbbbbbbt.

Kudos on using the word "allegedly." In fact, this is not the "world's only tame hippo." A tame hippo named Billy lives at the Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage in northwestern Zambia. Billy, who also grew up in a house with the owners, has quite a compelling story: http://www.chimfunshi.org.za/pages/others.html
