In The Year 3000: Conan Brings Back Classic "Late Night" Bit (VIDEO)

Last night Conan revived a main stay of his time on "Late Night": In the Year 2000. Unfortunately, Andy Richter made him change the name, considering it's 2009. "In the Year 3000" touched on many important future cultural events including peace in the Middle East, the waterboarding of Joe Biden, and the shaming of the ShamWow guy. Apparently, 991 years from now Obama is still president and all these other people are still alive.

In the year 3000, Alex Leo will have finally mastered simple subtraction and discovered that the year 3000 is 991 years (not 981) from the year 2009.

It might be nostalgic but it ain't funny... Sorry, I've given Conan 3 chances to win me over and I miss Leno... Not the mundane conversations he had with celebs but his opening half hour monologue... "Headlines" on monday nites was my favorite... Can't wait for Leno's return... I'll probably tape the 10pm show and play it at 11:35 just to make it feel more like the good ole days.

Dude, you MISS Leno's marathonologues? Forty minutes of "jokes" written by fifty of the worst comedy "writers" in Los Angeles. I guess Christmas comes in September for you this year.

Andy belongs on the couch for the whole show. Andy was a great sidekick who made the early days of Conan's Late Night fun and unpredictable. Stickling him at a podium like some common announcer is an insult .

Can I just say how happy I am to see Andy back. When he left I felt the "late show" lost something special. Now he's back with Conan where he belongs. So much better.

The return of Andy is the only reason I've watched this week but if they don't put Andy on the couch where he belongs I'm gone. The interaction between thenm in the old days made the show unpredictable and fun. Andy is a sidekick and shouldn't be stuck at a podium across the stage. Andy is 100x funnier than Ed McMahon ever was. Andy belongs on thencouch for the whole show.

"In the Year 2000" was my favorite thing about the Late Show other than Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. I was so thrilled to see "3000" last night. I heard him leading up to it and I knew it was about to happen when the lights went down in the studio. Classic.
