Security Guard Charged Over Shoving Match With Stephanie Seymour

GREENWICH, Conn. — A security guard has been charged with shoving former model Stephanie Seymour into a door at her Connecticut home.

Greenwich police tell the Greenwich Time newspaper that they arrested the guard, 50-year-old Joseph Babnik of Carmel, N.Y., on Thursday. He was given a misdemeanor summons on a disorderly conduct charge.

The 39-year-old Seymour and her estranged husband, wealthy newsprint magnate Peter Brant, are divorcing. Police say Babnik is watching the estate while the 62-year-old Brant is out of the country.

The couple have been living in different houses on the estate.

Babnik told police that Seymour had taken a slip of paper from him and he was trying to get it back. He says he fell into the door while trying to stop her from entering.

Didn't she get into trouble a long time ago for beating up Axel Rose? I think she has a screw loose too. And she's never publicly disclosed who the father of her oldest son is. I always thought it was Warren Beatty because she dated him way back when. She has a habit of hooking up with inappropriate (but very wealthy) men who mistreat her. Break the habit, girl! She looks fab for having four kids too.

It was very public that the father of Seymour's oldest child is Tommy Andrews, and Peter Brant is the father of her other three children. The fact that she would have a number of relationships with rich, famous men is not odd, considering the environment in which she works, and the men that seem to hunt out these models. But when the relationship with Axl became violent she left. You can't always see this stuff ahead of time. It's how your react when it happens that is important and she appears to be smart about taking care of herself.
