Bird In San Francisco Smacks Unsuspecting Pedestrians In The Head (VIDEO)
A bird on a mission. That is the only way to describe the bird in this video from CNN, which repeatedly swoops down to smack pedestrians in San Francisco in the head.

We're having a similar problem outside the parking deck where I work: a pair of mockingbirds with young in a nest are defending their area by swooping down on unsuspecting pedestrians (I got a little pinch on the back of the arm by the claws of one). People have asked about exterminators and moving the nest, but these birds are protected by state wildlife laws and can't be touched. The property manager sent out a global email advising everyone to avoid the area for the next couple of weeks, until the babies are out of the nest.
A lot of people are really freaked out over the attacks, but it doesn't bother me. After all, how much damage can a little mockingbird really do? It's probably psychological: predators (which humans are) don't expect to be attacked by their potential prey.
Nasty little boogers! I used to get attacked going to school sometimes and they would really peck your head and it hurt!
Da Bird was racing back to their car to avoid the $400.00 parking ticket
Hitchcock anyone? As I recall the movie "The Birds" takes place in Bodega Bay in Northern California near San Francisco.
Bird probably fed up with humans, who can blame it.
Um, no.
The bird is *defending* a nest, probably one in that tree they keep walking by.
Birds do not need to use hair in building nests so badly that they would risk attacking a predator to get it. Defending their young though, sure.
Bird terrorist attack!
This is what happens when you don't fight them over there-you have to fight them over here.
Give me your soul and maybe we can arrange something.
They should wear those beanies with a propellor on top to scare them away.
I can relate to this.
We have tons of birds in our yard in the spring time making their nests and when they lay their eggs we got some very testy birds on guard.
We had a very agressive bird do just this and swoop down on us and hit our heads just like in the video. Our poor cocker spaniel had the same thing happen to him. He prob wondered what was happening.
Whenever I was out in the yard working, I had to take an umbrella with me just to ward off the bird.
It worked!
she was just protecting her babies.
LOL!!
