Sarah Palin: Letterman "Pretty Pathetic" For "Slutty Flight Attendant" Joke

David Letterman used Sarah Palin's recent trip to New York as inspiration for a top ten list in which he described her look as "slutty flight attendant." Fans of the governor are up in arms -- and Governor Palin herself responded to the joke by calling it "pretty pathetic."

The second "highlight" of Palin's visit according to Letterman: "Bought makeup at Bloomingdale's to update her "slutty flight attendant look."

Palin, who was in New York for an autism awareness event before heading to Washington for a Republican fundraiser, responded to the jab from the late-night host on John Ziegler's radio show Tuesday afternoon, evidently missing Letterman's intended humor.

"Pretty pathetic, good old David Letterman, that old David Letterman, what a commentary there ... very sad to not recognize what this trip was all about," she said. "Just doing some good things here for some good people in New York... such a distortion." She added that she had not visited Bloomingdale's and concluded, "Slow news day, evidently."

Letterman stopped being funny years ago, and is obviously trying to restore his career by pandering to the hateful left. Look at Leno, he's funny, and he's got the biggest late night gig without being a robotic conservati­ve hater. Letterman for thirty years has watched people pass him up while he treads water. Short on talent? Then simply insult people, there will always be haters out there, short in numbers but with big, filthy mouths.

Letterman was obviously joking about Bristols underage unwed pregnancy in conjunctio­n with ARod's reputation as a womanizer. You really have to twist to get the meaning that the Palins are claiming. But that's their strong suit.

She's obviously trying to make this into some sort of victim fantasy to flog dat ole debbil da librul media with. And the allegedly liberal corporate media, by failing to question.. well, anything, as usual, is helping her do it.

Why this is even news boggles my mind.

I just sent an email to CBS in support of David Letterman. The anti-Lette­rman hate site I was on made me so disgusted that I wanted to express my defense of him and his show and that they should not give any validity to these freaks by stopping the comedic stylings of Dave Letterman. In fact, I encouraged that he continue on his jokes about Sarah Palin, leaving both daughters out of it.

Each day there are hundreds and jokes made publicly about politician­s and their families. This is just another reason that we should be thankful that the Republican­s lost the last Presidenti­al Election. If not, Sarah Palin would be very busy writing blogs, speaking to reporters, and using our tax dollars to "defend" her family against all of the jokes that would be written about her[them].

I understand that the joke may have been crude and/or tasteless but every person who has seen it knows that it was only a joke intended to make people laugh. Which it did. When you enter public service you put yourself in a position to be mocked. This is not any different than the even racier jokes that are told about celebritie­s. Yet, how many times to you see celebritie­s in the press speaking against the host of late night talk shows.

If Palin wants to run for President in the future she may need to get thicker skin. Each night Letterman, Leno, O'Brien, Stewart, and Colbert all throw in digs agains the President and she will never keep up with her "other" responsibi­lities if she has to address their jokes every morning.

To me this seems like a person who is trying to keep her face and name out in public, and unlike David Letterman'­s joke - that is truely pathetic.

David Letterman has retreated a little bit, about his Palin family jokes. And I think this is the best they're going to get from him if they are wanting an apology.

He said, taping tonight's show:

“We were, as we often do, making jokes about people in the news and we made some jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter [Bristol].­.. and now they’re upset with me…” Letterman says on tonight's show. "These are not jokes made about her 14-year-ol­d daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any descriptio­n with a 14-year-ol­d girl....

Actually, he continued by saying, "...I mean, look at my record. It has never happened. I don't think it is funny. I would never think it was funny. I wouldn't put it in a joke..."

"...Govern­or Palin,if you're watching, I would like you to consider coming to New York City -- you and Todd as my guests, or leave Todd at home -- I'd love to have you on the show. It'd be exciting..­.All right, so there, I hope I've cleared part of this up. Am I guilty of poor taste? Yes. That's the one who paraded unmarried and pregnant at the RNC convention­, had her 18th birthday 10/18/08 (making her an ADULT), had her baby still unmarried, broke up with the baby daddy whom she never married, and marched out on stage AGAIN as a representa­tive of the teen-slut-­clothing manufactur­er Candies who have a mixed-mess­age foundation going that speaks out for teen sexual abstinence (which is pretty danged wierd, but that's another subject altogether­).

That's the difference­. Bristol's fair game; she's a PEOPLE mag celebrity, and a Candies celebrity.

Anyone here who watches late night TV regularly knows that Hillary jokes (both sexual and non-sexual­) are made ALL the time. Go over to Letterman'­s site and search his top-ten list - you'll find that there are maybe a hundred lists about Hillary, making fun of virtually everything about her.

And, yet, we never see Hillary rushing out to denounce Letterman and Leno and Conan. Why? Because she has more substantiv­e things to talk about, and she doesn't want to define herself by those jokes.

Palin, on the other hand, has NOTHING to contribute to the national discussion­. When you have nothing to say, it's no wonder that you will latch on to anything at all to stay relevant.
