Just saw The Hangover this afternoon. I give it a resounding "meh".

It was amusing. And I give it points for pushing the edge, especially during the end credits. And it had more of an honest feel about the relationships between the guys. So yeah, it was good. But it doesn't live up to the raves, at least not for me. I got way more laughs from the pratfalls in Star Trek.

I think the quality of movie comedy's in recent years has sunk pretty low. I think Hangover is getting a bump because it falls into "hey, this one doesn't suck!" category.

Go see it. You'll have fun. And it's a cultural touchpoint since everyone else in the US is going to see it.

I don't know, I mean I the guy in the trunk kept it fresh, I thought the call to the fiancee, both times was original. Who does that, who has the guts. I thought the marriage was a twist on an old trope, Tyson was hysterical... if they hadn't show tons of good scenes in the commercials I think you might have liked it more. Give it a few months, rent it when it comes out on DVD around thanksgiving, and try it again, I think you'll upgrade it.

I'm a 52-year-old Mom and I took my teenage sons no knowing what to expect. We laughed our butts off. Loved every sick, twisted, silly moment of it. MUCH better than the junk Apatow cranks out.

I read a great "Esquire" article about Nick Nolte about 10 years ago. He'd bumped into Eddie somewhere. Eddie said something along the lines of, "I want a career like yours. How do I get in all those independent movies?" Nolte told him that, first & foremost, he wasn't going to be making a ton of money doing those films. Eddie basically said said, "Oh. No way then. I have a lifestyle I've gotten used to."

I saw it the other afternoon because I had to be out of my townhouse for a few hours. The reviews I had read were raving. The jokes seemed tried and true or tired and true. Just not that funny to me and felt no empathy for the characters especially the bride.

Empathy???? It's a comedy. Lighten up. The movie is hilarious if you take it for what it is and stop trying to turn it into Shakespeare.

At the request of my co-workers, saw it last night. It's ridiculously funny, yet so raunchy. I've never cringed this much before.

Are you saying the artists, producers, director, et al should
make an apology to Sarah Palin for this film?

With Washington and Travolta in the remake of "Pelham 1 2 3," maybe it'll take the lead.

THe hangover was pretty good. The jokes were funny, but sometimes suffered from delivery and while Zach Galifinaikis was hilarious sometimes he seemed like he was in a different movie.

There was just something a little bit off, and I wished that there was a little more "point" to the movie beyond the jokes along the way.

I agree. I wouldn't cross the street, with free tickets and the promise of sex afterwards to watch a Murphy or Williams movie these days. Too painful.

The only good work they do now is voice acting for animated features.
