ABC News To Air Obama Health Care Special

NEW YORK — ABC News will present a prime-time interview with President Barack Obama on health care issues next week.

The special will air June 24 at 10 p.m. Eastern, on two-hour tape delay. Charles Gibson and Diane Sawyer will moderate the White House discussion with a live audience, also taking questions submitted by viewers. After a break for local news, the discussion will continue on "Nightline."

That morning, Sawyer will interview Obama for "Good Morning America." Gibson will anchor that evening's edition of "World News" from the White House Blue Room.

Obama has been carefully doling out access to broadcast networks. NBC had big ratings with its inside peek at the White House. Obama has also given interviews to CBS' "Face the Nation" and "60 Minutes."

I just hope this Obama Healthcare Special brings us some real answers and valuable information. If Obama plans to shift this insurance platform to include a "public option", then make sure that all Americans (including federal workers and Congress) interested in purchasing a private insurance option be treated equally and interact on the same playing field. Congress currently has the "gold standard" of care, just think about the medical interventions provided to Senator Kennedy and Senator Spector..... it is a far cry from the norm. If Congress is forced to have the coverage we have, then I believe we may possibly come up with a viable alternative.

ABC is probably upset that NBC and MSNBC are the official propaganda agency of the Obama Administration and they want to be a part of that.

No opposing views will be aired on this special either. This is really scary.

The only thing I don't care for is Charlie Gibson. I wouldn't even give him the opportunity to be on the same stage with president. Let's see if he will have his questions from hannity in his pocket. And he better addrss the president as MR. PRESIDENT. That's what I would like to see come out of his mouth. PRESIDENT OBAMA knows exactly what he is doing. Make the racists Gibson say MR.PRESIDENT. I wish Obama took the high road and went with Bill Moyers on PBS. Moyers has been covering health care reform for some time and would have been far more knowledgeable on the subject than Gibson and Sawyer. No commercial interruptions, Moyers could ask follow-up questions and Obama could answer the questions in full with out interruptions. Remember what a "professional" job Gibson did during the Obama/Clinton debate.
