I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Oh, snap! Rush Limbaugh says that we here at the Huffington Post are history's greatest monsters because while "people are being gunned down in Iran" we dared to run a post by Ann Wright entitled "Israeli Police and Military Brutalize Peaceful Protesters at Netanyahu's Speech," which Limbaugh apparently didn't care for. And that's what Limbaugh says we are "concerned with."

[LISTEN]

And really, Rush has a point! If you ignore all the other news articles on Iran that have been posted on the HuffPo, all the other blog posts about Iran that we have run, our liveblog which has been running all weekend and which reported the shootings in Iran as news about them broke, the images of those shootings that we included in that liveblog, the videos of the protests that we've included in that liveblog, and the ENTIRE FRONT PAGE OF THE SITE WHICH HAS AT THIS MOMENT, THIS IMAGE...

...then YES, absolutely, we here at the Huffington Post should be horsewhipped in the town square for ignoring the Iranian protests. But somehow I think all of the above content is going to count in our favor.

Editor-In-Chief Arianna Huffington was not reached for comment, because I don't go around bothering her every time some idiot scrapes something off the stable floor to put on his old-timey radio show.

I just wish Rush would go away forever.

According to Rush, because the NYTimes had a front page story yesterday about the Lakers winning the NBA title, the Times must be more concerned with sports than human events and death in Iran. Obviously, this is what happens when someone can't keep more than one thought in their mind at a time.

It is amazing how uneducated Americans are. Unfortunately we have a huge crop of them now from the great Bush policy of "keep them dumb and they will follow us anywhere".

This should be further proof that Limbaugh has zero credibility. He never let the facts get in the way of a good story. It's ironic, I listen to Randi Rhodes on Air America, and she constantly tells her listeners to go and verify everything she says. While people on the right, constantly spout lies and bank on their listeners not checking anything out. Ignorant people are easier to fool.

It's the Oxycoton, Mr. Linkins. It's clearly showing the long term side effects of sustained over-use on the human brain.

Either that, or Herr Limbaugh has become unhinged by the very idea of anyone other than an old, conservative white male like himself occupying the White House...

Then again, one must keep in mind the party Herr Limbaugh continues to champion:

he plays to his audience's basest instincts, while draping them and himself in the flag- which is the most repugnant thing about the whole mess

Let's call it what it is. It's not "playing to base instincts," it's bald-faced lying. Rush Limbaugh lies for a living. It's frankly amazing.

Everyone in their right mind knows he is lying. The point here is there are those who will NEVER know he's lying and that is the problem. Rush has been allowed to spew his hatred and one-sided views for more years than we can imagine. His views are what a lot of families have grown up hearing and believing. Radios in certain parts of this country never leaves his station. If he were on TV, he would outrank FOX and all other TV rightwing talking heads.

Rush has made himself like a supreme being in so many households that it will be difficult if not impossible to even make these people believe otherwise. We, who have the intelligence to know better, are the minority I think.

For example, on TV yesterday, Ed interviewed four people on the street. Out of the four, two believed in Obama and two believed the rightwing rhetoric that Obama was a muslim. These were white elderly people who are business oriented and supposedly intelligent. Yet look how the muslim thing stuck in two and not the other two. Our country is just about split down the middle with the pros and cons of the right and left beliefs.

Wow, it was astounding to see that a random pick like that got split results indicating that a larger group would probably have the same result. And here we think most people don't believe Rush at all. I guess we have another "think" coming it seems.

Correction: One of the four believed he was a muslim and the other one believed he's basically running us into even more debt.

As far as the elderly and their thoughts are concerned, unless they have lived in different areas of the country, they've been bound by their roots in their birth communities. I see this in my own family. I'm the black sheep who's lived from east to west and have seen different cultures of this country. Black sheep or not, I have a totally opposite view than most of my relatives. They cling on every word of Rush and O'Reilly...and every Evangelical on TV. It's sad.

47% of US citizens don't believe in evolution.

Its real easy for uneducated people to believe anything, once you convince them that their entire existence occurred from magic.

The Red State Plague is the thing bringing this nation to it's knees (duh!). Why oh why weren't they encouraged to secede? But then, Rupert Murdoch's and Limbaugh's fascibots would number in the hundreds rather than in the millions.

As head of the party, Rush seems to have identified the biggest threat to the republican party - a legitimate and unfettered press.

The folks who listen to Limbaugh and watch Fox believe what they hear and see as gospel. They don't have the intelligence or curiousity to check to see the truth so they are easily fooled.. If they checked, Limbaugh and Fox would lose their audience.

I think it's because they are so brainwashed by this culture in America that they really don't know WHAT to believe. We have been asleep for too many years and have let the government program us into being exactly what we are right now.

Well one thing you are missing here most of these peoplel that listen to both of these stations grew up with Walter chronkite, problem is back in the days of real news they reported it, and did not interject rumor or opinion. If they were wrong they brodcast a retraction. These people havn't figured out that the news is no longer an organization that can be trusted. For many reason they cannot be trusted , one being they are about ratings and seldom does the truth result in good ratings.

If you address this issue with FOX News themselves, they do not hesitate to insist that they are NOT a News Network and that they ARE an Opinion Network.

These pinheads don't understand the concept of chewing gum and walking at the same time. Yes, Huffpost covered the story about the Israeli protesters being beaten AND have been covering the Iranian election protests..
