Maybe we need to rethink our ideas about marriage. Let's face facts: most people marry someone they want to go to bed with.. and sign a lifetime contract when they're still in their early 20s and don't even know who they, or who their partner really is. Is it surprising that 10 or 20 years later people lose interest in their mates as sex partners, and become attracted to or fantasize about others? I think the solution is to make marriages renewable - maybe as 7 year contracts? That way, if people grow apart, or simply outgrow their relationship ... they can leave when the contracts up. Is that worse then infidelity, lying, and heartbreak?
