Jon Stewart Mocks CNN's Iran Coverage: They Don't Know What The Hell Is Going On (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart

CNN has taken a lot of heat in the past few days for its initial lack of coverage of the Iranian election and the ensuing melee. Now Jon Stewart is going after the coverage they are devoting to the historic struggle.

Iran expelled many foreign reporters and put others under house arrest, making first hand reporting more difficult. As a result, CNN has thrown out their playbook, "just reporting what they find on the Internet," without a vetting process. Stewart sees no difference between this "new" policy and what CNN normally does.

Stewart has been devoting the bulk of his show to the Iranian elections. Monday night he called Ahmadinejad "batshit insane," and then had John Oliver use a CNN-esque magic screen to prove that he had in fact won fair and square.

In truth, if we leave be the crisis in Iran, CNN does have a tendency to try their utmost best to appear youthful and "down with it", referring to Twitter and what not, as was it a reliable source, and it's becoming quite pathetic.
What more is that CNN International(which is what I'm stuck with, here in Sweden), seems to have stopped giving you the...news! It's Backstory, Inside the Middle East, Market Place Middle East, Living Golf, My town(or city...), Inside Africa, African Voices, Talk Asia, Main Sail, Revealed, Connect the World, Quet means business...etc...etc...etc... I just want to hear and see WORLD NEWS!!! It's becoming a rare thing on a reported NEWS CHANNEL! Are they even aware of this problem???

Forget CNN, the whole American media does not know what's going on in Iran.

Jon Stewart puts a comic face on some very serious problems. I am glad he is there and I'm glad he's doing what he's doing. Some times we all have to laugh at ourselves or we'll go crazy. Jon understands this and fills this need while still getting his point across. We need more citizens willing to investigate our problems and the faces involved, investigate the facts and speak up when needed. Jon Stewart has boldly done all of these and deserves our gratitude and respect.

I get a bigger kick out of the stations trying to make it an "uprising", tooting the CIA Mossad plan that somehow the Iraniians will revolt and welcome the Shah and the Oil Companies back. Rumsfeld and Wolfwitz will be leading the Victory Parade in Iran just like they did in Iraq.
Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to War we go

One of my ancestors thought the constitution would lead to oligarchy. She and her family took a lot of heat over it. Very much against her own party. Mercy Warren.

Robert Fisk doesn't seem to be having any problems reporting directly from Iran.

What would be really cool is if Ted Turner took the network back because they screwed it up. He could go in and start ripping and start it over again.

How the hell is it news if your getting it off twitter, myspace & facebook? Be f**king for reals CNN! I use social networks to stay connected to old friends & different states it not supposed to be for fact finding. another reason why I don't watch any news stations, if we want the truth people we must go find it for ourselves.

American turn to comedians for their news because CNN and others won't tell the news as they happened at least comedians dont leave stuff out and even make you laugh you can read a great article about this at http://www.aircheese.com/article/cnnfails-to-report-news

Watching the protests in Iran made me think: Why didn't we do this when Bush stole the election in 2000, and 2004? I don't remember seeing massive protests....
And these people have a hell of a lot more to lose. Seems to me they are more brave than we ever were in search of the truth.

Only the Brooks Brothers riot. Paid republican operatives and staffers who should have been prosecuted to the full extent of the law for interference in an election.

What did Michael Moore say about the rest of the world?

People there have health care because the government is afraid of the people.

In America it is the people who are afraid of the government.
