GOP Less Popular Than Ever, Numerous Polls Show

Can it get any worse for the GOP?

Republican popularity has sunk to its lowest point in the party's grand old history, according to new polls conducted by the New York Times, CBS, Wall Street Journal and NBC.

A New York Times/CBS study finds the GOP stuck with a mere 28 percent approval rating, while a Wall Street Journal/NBC poll sees the party struggling even more, at 25 percent.

Both reports noted that today's Republican Party, which has held the executive branch for 20 of the last 28 years, garners less public approval than ever before.

From the NYT/CBS report:

...the poll found that the Republican Party is viewed favorably by only 28 percent of those polled, the lowest rating ever in a New York Times/CBS News poll.

From the WSJ/NBC report:

25 percent hold a favorable view of the Republican Party, which is an all-time low for it in the poll.

Democrats fared considerably better in both polls, earning the approval of 57 and 45 percent of the public, respectively. President Obama's ratings were even higher, at 63 and 56 percent.

The fundamental reality, unrecognized by republicans, is that most people are smart enough to recognize their intentional deceit. They continously concoct new lies about the economy and their part in it. However, they are not alone in attempting to perpetrate this deceit on the American people. Consider a recent question being put forth by republicans and supported and diseminated by the mainstream media, "When will the current economy becomes Obama's?" This ludicrous notion that somehow he will magically be to blame for the irresponsibility of previous administrations is a result of sloppy and sophomoric analysis of current events. When a reporter focuses on the "political" aspects of a situation without consideration of the "logical plausibility" of the proposition, it provides more evidence for why mainstream news outlets are struggling.

The only thing I am afraid of is the republican party winning the presidency...the real minorities in this country will be oppressed. Laws will be changed to make it difficult for anyone of minority status to become president again and you know the G.O.P. is very evil and capable of twisting laws to favor the white supremist mind set

We loaned the Republicans our car and gave them our money. The wrecked it and spent all the money. So we have to borrow money so we can have a car to get to work again. Now they are griping at us for borrowing money for a car. Then they want us to like them?

I hope Americans stay AWAKE!

I grew up in Dallas, Texas and believe me these southern, white, Republicans are convinced that they are the Saviors of America. The are the most racist, narrow minded, lying people on the planet. They are absolutely boiling that a black man is President.

The Repubican party needs to ask itself, "What would happen if we ever told the truth about our motives?" The root of their problem is that they just can't defend their positions without having to resort to lying. They need to rethink their positions and replace them with ones they can truthfully defend.

This is a direct result of Fox News' winning in the ratings war. More people watching Fox News supporting the GOP while piling onto a popular President. It bound to have an effect.

SHHHHH!!! It's Rupert Murdoch's ultra-secret plan to make an utter mockery of Republicans through Fox News - Bush wouldn't have been half as bad if it weren't for Fox News.

Fox is like kryptonite - whoever they support is going to fail epically.

The erosion of support for the republithug party is heartening to witness.

A percentage number in the mid 20's is low but it still demonstrates that there are significant numbers of people still inclined to give the party the benefit of the doubt; inertial party members as it were. If these same people were to base their support strictly on the behavior of party officials we'd soon see a significant further erosion of support. This in turn would finally modify the behavior of party officials.

I'm looking forward to the day when the support percentage number for this party drops into the teens.
Only then can we look for appropriate behavior modification of republithug officials.

When will MSM (I'm talking about you, CNN) stop treating GOP like it has majority support and then some?

Nastiness, hatefulness, greed and gimmicks just does not get it. When will the Republicans get this? Guess they are having too much fun pallin' around with Palin.

If they are so unpopular why do the cable channels and Sunday shows have so many of them on all the time?

the reason they are so unpopular is because the people see their hatemongering on the cable & Sunday shows...

Because the same half-dozen corporations that own the GOP also own 95% of America's media - thanks to deregulation under Reagan-Bush.

When a key leader is a 400 pound bigot spigot hitting the airwaves daily and no one has the guts to denounce him what else would you expect?
