Angelina Jolie Honors World Refugee Day, Talks Family (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie spent Thursday in Washington DC for World Refugee Day, talking about the international crisis and addressing the inevitable question about her multinational brood.

Although her meeting with Hillary Clinton was canceled after Clinton broke her elbow, Jolie spoke at an event about her visits to refugee camps in Pakistan and Tanzinia and teared up during a video of refugees telling their stories.

After the event, she had an interview with Anderson Cooper, which you can scroll down to watch. She told him stories of visiting refugee camps and how the Pakistani crisis is especially bad right now. And then Cooper finished with questions about her kids. How do she and Brad deal with all the birthdays and do they have plans for more children?

"We have so many kids, we just have year-round birthdays," Jolie said. "We have a rotating -- it's just fun, you know. It's a lot of fun now, because the older kids are old enough to help plan the birthdays for the younger kids. So it's just -- it's one of the great pleasures of life.

"We do love children. We want a big family. So we never -- you know, never say no."

Angelina is a polarizing persona... with her surgically chiseled facial beauty and androgynous mannerisms... she is not liked by more than half the people who comment on her (yeah, read over any blogs)..... a polarizing factor is also a media button.... along with nabbing Brad, she's got her 'power'..... dropping a million isn't a big deal for these guys.... and it makes for lucrative PR..... let's move on to someone more interesting, plu...leze!

as far as I know, the only surgery she has had and disclosed is breast implants. She gives away about .75 of every dollar she earns to needy children and refugees. She has used her celebrity to help children all over the world. I do not find her to be polarizing in anyway, I think that she is inspirational and empowering. Go after Paris HIlton or some other emply headed party girl, but not a woman that has dedicated her life to improving the lives of children and forgotten populations all over the world.

By the looks of old and new photos of her I'd say she has had fillers in her top lip to even it out with the lower lip (her lips have been a lot bigger and then changed to smaller over the years), also an obvious nose job and eyelid work (blepharoplasty). Not that this has anything to do with anything - just the fact that yes, she has indeed had work done. Probably more than what I've mentioned, I saw photos of her at the Benjamin Button premiere that had red scar lines behind her ears (possible face lift) and she's used Botox as well.

Hollywood seems to expect this of male and female stars, a lot more people have had work done that most of us realize. But to say her beauty is "natural" is not exactly true.

Yes, you could say dropping $1 mil is no big deal...but what about the time and love she gives to these people in need. What can you say about that??? Angelina feels good about helping children and people in need. You should try giving just $1 to someone whose putting up sign for food on the street or give them something to eat......you will feel good....just try doing it....Obviously, you haven't done any good deeds to anyone.

Sorry but there are many people who can't accept those who break the barrier and take risks in life. Angie has made mistakes in the past, but she's living her life the way she wants to and believes in. Her passions are real and unconventional - therefore it freaks people out.

Actually they collected the kids in 3 1/2 years. And they've moved a dozen times. Shocking that isn't working out for them. What a mess for those poor kids being raised by two narcissists. Sure they have everything money can buy and life is better than at an orphanage. But you can't put a price tag on stability. And Brangeloonies don't give me the saintly charity routine. That's ALL about THEM. When have they ever asked you to help them with the refugees or orphanges. Have they ever asked you to volunteer or asked you to donate any money? I didn't think so.

Don't judge her. None of you are perfect. Neither is she. Would I have presented an opportunity for an unhappily married man to escape his situation to venture greener pastures along with me? Probably not because I've learned thru experience the grass isn't always greener. But I guarantee there are things I've done and currently do, that she probably wouldn't have done either. We are all no better than each other. Obviously her heart is into her ambassador work and I respect that.

I don't get get all these comments about Jolie stealing Brad. How on earth can you steal one's husband or wife for that matter. These are adults we're talking about. They're conscious of their actions and I doubt if Brad was forced leave his wife. Their relationship obviously had problems and he left his wife for someone else (what's new there?) He probably would have left her sooner or later. So stop hating on Jolie ladies.

I think Angelina Jolie represents a bit of perfection that many people cannot handle or feel they need to criticize in order to knock her down a few pegs so she might be closer to their level. I think she lives her life in a way that represents the kind of responsibility we hope people of means will demonstrate. She not only gives 1/3 of her earnings to charity, she rescues and provides love to children that had questionable futures. All the while, she is smart, sexy, empathic, well-spoken, and naturally beautiful...not the just left the plastic surgeon's beautiful, but Elizabeth Taylor beautiful. I happen to admire hints of perfection so for those of you that find perfection uncomfortable, there is always Jennifer Aniston.

I friend of mine, who is unfortunately unemployed, won 50 dollars on a 1 dollar scratch ticket the other day. She gave half of her winnings (25 dollars) to the food bank. She gave with no expectation of any kind of recognition. In my world, her gift is far more :"perfect" than Angelina's milion dollars that has been advertised ad nauseum. What is sad about your comment is that you have so much contempt for your felow human beings that you don't see that Angelina is not on a higher level than any of them. She just happens to have better PR and more money. I appreciate her empathy and that she loves her children. But most people love their children - not all that unusual. It is also too bad that you need to off handedly trash Jennifer Aniston who also gives (perhaps more quietly than Brangelina). I don't dislike Angelina, and she certainly is a pretty girl by some standards, but she is not perfect.

I think those that give not only money but their time and energy to make this world a better place are on a higher level. I also think that when people do good things we should know about it and celebrate it. When we see people giving, we are more likely to give. When we hear people celebrating the good in people, we are more likely to want to do the same. A tranformation of energy can go a long way.

I'm sure a lot of us. I live in NYC and I don't know one person who is not actively involved in some charity in various capacities. Jolie makes ungodly amounts of money. I doubt she even gives a small percentage of it away. Much of it is in tax shelters in the Netherlands. She announces every donation she makes. Why? For the same reason she announced her pregnancy with Shiloh at a refugee camp....to dispell bad press.
