New York Times:

THAT First 100 Days hoopla seems like a century ago. The countless report cards it engendered are already obsolete. The real story begins now. With Iran, universal health care, energy reform and the economic recovery all on the line, the still-new, still-popular president's true tests are about to come.

Dear President Obama,

We FOUND the $TRILLION in SAVINGS we needed!

It seems the Budget Office did their $1 Trillion Short Fall Estimate assuming NO PUBLIC OPTION in their calculations. Amazing!

Insurance Companies charge 1,500% more for Administrative FEES than Medicare, so
there is at least a $Trillion Dollars in Savings with the Competition created using the Public Option.

The Public Option will be great for controlling the SINGLE-PROF1TEER Insurers!

The Public Option is fully Funded and ready SO YOU can keep YOUR PROMISES to AMERICANS!

Sincerely, The CBO Checker

P.S.:

2.1% Administrative Fees for Medicare
30% Administrative Fees for Insurance Companies

So Insurance Companies charge 15 TIMES or 1,500% more than Medicare, or 27.9% MORE and that is $Trillions!

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 32% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-four percent (34%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -2. Thatโ€™s the Presidentโ€™s lowest rating to date and the first time the Presidential Approval Index has fallen below zero for Obama.

Overall, 53% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance so far. Forty-six percent (46%) disapprove.

During the campaign Rasmussen was reliably the outlier by several points to other surveys, always favoring McCain. In fact it's Rasmussen that we can thank, among others, for that most oft repeated media delusion---"That's good news for John McCain!"

Polls are all about the questions chosen and the wording of those questions. When an outfit like Rasmussen consistently polls lower than the mean, the bias is clear.

You just make it up as you go along. Good for you. In case you're interested in fact, here you go.

Rasmussen was the most accurate of all the 2008 presidential polls. The final vote total was Obama 52.9% and McCain 45.7%. The last Rasmussen poll before the election had it at Obama 52% and McCain 46%.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

When someone ignores facts, the bias is clear. Do your homework Stella.

well hey that's intent..isn't it? ......You got the right chipping away at him everyday. You got the media chipping away at him everyday. You got his own party chipping away at him everyday.
It's going to have a hold.....that's the effect of it all
Funny...when Bush ran for Office he made a big old load of promises......he kept none of them and no one....no one.....kept track or held his administration accountable. ..It simply was never brought up by ...anyone....not the left, the media.....no one.....4 years..no mention of promises broken...all of them.
after 4 years of criminal activity Bush ran again...I remember thinking...why isn't anyone bringing up the fact that all during the second campaign Bush made the same old un kept campaign promises as he did during his first run ? No one noticed ?

Obama....on a daily basis....after only a few months in office is being crucified daily. After 16 years of president bashing...some of us were so looking forward to supporting a president and trusting him.....actually being ok with liking the POTUS.
Nope........
Also......Rasmussen has become corrupt. It's the go to poll for the right...it's not to be trusted.

Sorry, you can't blame it on the GOP when the compromises happen before the proposals are even made public. I'm glad Frank Rich used the word "punt" because that's typical. Democrats always punt on third down. Unless they punt on second down. But if you want, blame it on the establishment toadies Obama surrounded himself with. That way you can keep your illusions intact.

No on the third down, they "take a knee" and give it up to the other side. That is the democrats mode of operendi. Huff, puff, promise and then capitulate. gutless and spineless wonders.

If this administration means to continue as it has has begun, we are in for a dismal four years and an even darker outlook beyond. Obama's handout to the healthcare industry is the least of his sins.
This administration, like the last, is out of compliance with the law and the Constitution. It isn't satisfied with one Middle Eastern war crime, it proposes another war crime as a fix.
No one that committed crimes, abused power defrauded Congress or the American people or causing the collapse of the global economic system is to be prosecuted or even stripped of power.
He is creating huge incentives for criminal behavior and taking away all the risk.
The way Obama is behaving, you'd think he spent the last eight years on another planet instead of in the State Legislature and in Congress.

"With Iran, universal health care, energy reform and the economic recovery all on the line......"

Very interesting that Iran is listed first.

I had no idea Barack Obama was the President of Iran.

Never mind that we have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan sacrificing.

Never mind a collapsing financial sector that required fixing.

Never mind the job losses.

He has got Iran to fix.

Amazing!!

Did you read the Rich article? He claims that President Obama does not have to be concerned about the Republicans or their MSM toadies. The ball is entirely in his court and that Obama is at his worst when innate cockiness sets in and he pauses---his concern needs to be truant Democrats and arrogance that can cripple him.

Oh what a surprise, the media trying to manufacture more drama.

When you have a president that takes taxpayer money and hands it to car companies because he says they cant file bankrupsy, then months later we dont know where all the money went but he files bankrupsy and becomes owner of them, then pays off banks with our money, hires 16 czars that only report to him and try to hurry thru a universal health plan he wont have to use you dont need the media to manufacture drama.

True, if he doesn't make a significant difference in the way things are in America right now (or at least get legislation passed that will...in the short, NOT the long term), he will never be able to dig himself out.

The seasonal aspect of Americans' lives is something I think politicians often fail to grasp. In parts of the country where it's not warm and sunny year-round, fall and winter bring hard, often devastating economic stress due to high fuel costs. If retailers don't get enough customers willing to spend money during the holiday season, Main Street hurts, big time.

So he's got a meager 4 months to show us "change", or his polls are going to plummet like a stone.

Seems to be with your constant every two years election cycle and transfer of power in question, it works against change or reform happening. Your gov't is shut down too long and too often for electioneering.

The Republicans have to see this President fail, so they can return to power. The Blue Dogs have to oppose any change that will upset their Conservative voters or they will lose their seat. I see very little in what is good for the country and only what is good for "me". Democrats are frantic because if they don't get their agenda done in a rush, they won't have time because it will campiagning season once again.

In the future, Obama will face opposition much stiffer than anything he will see from The Party of No. That will come from the millions of Democrats who occupy the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party.

Progressive, real Democrats, work tirelessly to get the policies enacted we want. In fact it's the only wing of the Democratic party that does. The other wing of the Democratic Party, the Republican wing of the Democratic Party, spends its time opposing the work of the Progressive wing, diluting and reversing all the good that the policies might do.

I've been calling and emailing my congresspeople about the Health Care Reform Bill. We want, AT LEAST, a public option. ALL the progressives I know are on the phone and working the mail system to get it done. I don't think we're going to get it. I think the Blue Dogs, who are really Republicans with a "D" after their name, are going to defeat it.

That is because this country is not a direct democracy; it is a representative democracy and we elect people whom we believe will follow the will of those who voted for them.

A very famous president, JFK, wrote a book called "Profiles in Courage," and in it he said political courage was voting against the interests of the people who elected you if it is for the good of the nation.

Question, my friend: Is/was the late president Kennedy correct?

As Bush did, Obama needs to call every one of them into his office and have a chat.

Bush got it done, even the most evil stuff America has ever done.

Obama has righteousness on his side. He should get it done, too.
