LOS ANGELES -- A 911 caller from Michael Jackson's home says he wasn't breathing or responding to efforts to revive him.

The Los Angeles Fire Department released the 911 call Friday.

The caller reported that Jackson was on a bed, he wasn't breathing and wasn't responding to CPR.

The unidentified caller said Jackson only was with his personal doctor at the time.

Jackson was pronounced dead later Thursday at UCLA Medical Center.

Los Angeles County coroner's Lt. Brian Elias says an autopsy began shortly after 9 a.m. Friday and could take three to four hours.

Additional laboratory tests, including toxicology tests, are likely and those results wouldn't be known for several weeks.

My first two questions after hearing this tape were:

What kind of doctor performs CPR on a mattress?

For how long?

I heard Sanjay Gupta state that it is possible (not likely, but still a chance) to restart the heart with chest compressions after cardiac arrest - better with a defibrillator of course - but it has to be quick. Even if the outcome was the same, I would feel better knowing that precious time wasn't wasted by incompetence.

Why is this tape public? Medical information is not. Why would a 911 tape be made public? I have a real problem with this. I just saw a picture of him (the last picture, they called it) of him on the stretcher. I don't care if he was the biggest celebrity in the world, the man deserves some respect, privacy, and consideration while he is dying.

Why does the 911 dispatcher have tell them to put him on the floor for CPR?
An assistant saying --- Oooh we need to put him on the floor... What is that?
Unless he was sleeping on literally a board there is no way that his body would properly respond to compressions while on a mattress.

And if this was a "DOCTOR" why the heck didn't he know that?

I don't think most of us knew the situation. I think his family and friends might have been able to do more, but I'm just guessing.

In all these cases there were hangers on and takers be they Doctors, yes men, Demanding music executives and of course then there are allegations true or false, they go with the territory.
No privacy, no childhood, confusion about who are true friends, media frenzy etc etc. I could go on.
A sad ending indeed and doubly sad for Michael's children and family.
He was never going to manage to do 50 shows in his frail condition and did he really want to do them anyway or was it just to clear his debts?
There are those around Michael who have a lot to answer for.

Jackson's live-in doctor sounds as bad as Elvis' "Dr Nick" who kept
Elvis addicted to RX prescription drugs and got rich doing that.
Also Marylin Monroe's drug-pusher doctor.
Unsurprising that Jackson's cowardly doctor "disappeared".
