Maria Chapur Statement (FULL TEXT)

Following is the text of a statement from María Belén Chapur, read on Argentine television station CN5 on Sunday. The statement was the first public comment by Ms. Chapur since last week, when she was identified as the woman with whom Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina was having an affair.

should we get rid of all Governors and Senators and Representatives that cheat on their spouses? In that case we wouldn't have any Kennedys holding office. I'm not judging anybody, I just don't think Sanford is any worse than others that have been caught doing the same thing.....­.and much worse.
I will say, that if I was his wife, I would not take him back. He seems to be in love with the other woman, and that's not something I could live with.

So, he is blaming the devil and darkness & she is blaming a hacker? Both of them chose to have an affair. It may have started innocently as friends and then progressed; but they are both over the age of consent and should have been over the age where reason ruled. They both have children and should have thought of those children instead of themselves.

I read some of those released e-mails & Sandford sounds as if he really is in love with this woman. If that is the case, then he needs to make a choice between his political career and his "love". He can not do both. THEY DID COMMIT ADULTERY. The Catholic church frowns on this as well as divorce.

In all this, Jenny Sandford is the one who has been wronged. Not Mrs. Chapur and certainly not Gov. Sandford. The ball is in his court now - he needs to decide what he wants. (Hint: It might well be love; because I think his political career is pretty much shot). If he really loves this woman - he should resign, get a divorce from Jenny & change his residence to Buenos Aires.

After just one look at Maria Chapur, it's not hard to visualize how any red-blooded American man would NOT give up everything he had for a chance to be her boyfriend and/or lover.

This woman is more beautiful than the famous Helen of Troy, who had a face so beautiful that it was stated that she " ... had the face that could launch a thousand ships."

Any red-blooded American man would obviously have lust on his mind upon first seeing Maria Chapur.

Therefore, I think that Governor Sanford should be given a second chance and he should not resign.
