Ruth Madoff, wife of Wall Street scam artist Bernard Madoff, is having trouble finding a new home after being forced to give her $7.5 million 64th street duplex. "She has nowhere to go," a top broker said. "No one wants someone with her name in their building. People like their privacy."

If she would fess up to her part, the Federal Government would provide her accommodations.

How very true are the above comments on the criminaity which is Wall Street and their cheerleaders on CNBC. The corruption is deep to the core of this casino royale under the guise of investments. The challenge for most of us seeking preservation and some reward is a great one and not ever 100% achievable. Buyer Beware of Wall Street and the hucksters of CNBC.

Let's remember, the amount of money she was allowed to keep equals twice my lifetime salary!
May I suggest she go out to the burbs and purchase a distressed $350,000 3 bedroom ranchstyle home down a cul-de-sac for cash.

She could ask Bernie's victims for tips on how to live poor -- except they're really poor and she still has $2.5m, which I'm sure any of them would be very grateful to have -- to, you know, "tide them over." .

"she still has $2.5m"

Good news on that front: The lawyers will eat that up in no time, if they haven' already, and anything left over is fair game for civil lawsuits. :o)

I am not sure why the outrage against Bernie and Ruth, they are no worse than the thousands of market and financial services types who raped the entire nation and its future. Yes, he is the one who got caught but the really dangerous ones are still in control of your assets and future. With more in uncovered shorts out there than the value of all stock put together 3 times over, a much larger and destructive Ponzi scheme is continuing, a game that you can't possible win.

Agreed. Despite all of the sensationalism, Bernie was playing with pocket change. For those unclear on the concept, 1 trillion dollars is 1,000 billion dollars, or 1 million million dollars. The banking Ponzi scheme has, on paper, created at least 100 times more debt tban all of the capital in the world put together. That is, as you point out, by far the more massive scheme. Bernie was simply imitating what the bankers have been handed trillions of OUR dollars to repair - government sanctioned investment fraud.

Ah, Reaganomics. Don't you just love it?

When will these criminals be brought to account? I'm not holding my breath.

Steal anything up to and including billions of dollars - you'll get indicted. Steal trillions and be judged by idiots as "too big to fail," and the government will back you all the way. What laws we have on our books, eh? Gee. I wonder who paid for them?

Every little bit helps. To bring 'em down even one at a time is still bringing them down.

No sympathy, Ruth you have lived off the backs of hard working people for decades, you have spent money that was received through ill-gotten gains.

There is a saying "the same people you meet on the way up are the same people you see on the way down" So how many people have you looked down your nose at?

I think you mean the FTC. The FCC regulates television and radio, not financial markets.

Give her a tissue. I'm wondering if the folks who lost their homes because of the scam she and her hubby pulled off have roofs over their heads today.

No sympathy for this leech.
