Spurned "Bachelor" Fiancee Melissa Rycroft Engaged

NEW YORK — When "The Bachelor" winner Melissa Rycroft got jilted for the runner-up, she returned the engagement ring _ and walked off the set. That was so five months ago. Now, Rycroft has another sparkler _ and a new fiance, Tye Strickland, to go with it.

Her spokeswoman, Susan Madore, says Strickland is a 28-year-old insurance agent and has been dating Rycroft on and off for 2 1/2 years.

According to Madore, he proposed privately Friday night and then the couple celebrated with both sets of parents over dinner.

After Rycroft's run on ABC's "The Bachelor," the 26-year-old former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader appeared on "Dancing With the Stars."

Hmmm, methinks she was engaged all along. Then she wanted a boost for her career and went on the bachelor to get some publicity. Then the dance show for some more. Now that she has a career lift, she can marry the old boyfriend...for awhile. We'll see some scandal or other come from her marriage and more front page coverage.

Melissa is a very important person! She's been on three important reality shows. Three! One was about cheerleader, one was about finding true love in a number of weeks, and one was about dancing around with people who were just as famous as she is.

I bet Melissa and Tye will live happily ever after. And for those of you doubting that's she's a private person - she has a spokeswoman! You know, because she's too shy to speak to her adoringly public herself?(Endlessly expressing her feelings and appearing mostly naked on national television don't count)

I hope the wedding is broadcast live on the internet somewhere. And I hope they make adorable reality TV babies and get even more famous!

No signs of despiration here.
What an id|ot - both of them.
2 engagements in less than 6 months.
She claimed numerous times her parents were so private as not not want to appear on the Bachelor show yet their mugs were on every dance show.

Might as well sign the marriage certificate and divorce papers the same day. Saves them signing them less than 6 months later.

When did our culture become obsessed with people who....what has she done exactly? This is why Michael Jackson's passing is so sad - it reminds us that the celebrities who are idolized today enormously lack any sort of talent and are certainly not deserving of our attention (see: hilton, paris; lohan, lindsay; kardashian, any of them except the dad, the olympic medalist).

You can't fall in love, get over heartbreak, and in love again in a span of 6 months. This girl just wants to get married. She's about to start a new career with Good Morning America. She's going to meet someone, as a consequence of this, that is going to make her regret that she'd not married her hometown beau. Big mistake.
