Simpson

As you may know by now, we heart InfoMania, Current TV's half-hour satirical news show, that gives us such segments like "Target Women" and "That's Gay."

This week they looked at the craziest 911 calls reported by the media and the stupid criminals who made them. Granted, we've created a comedy franchise out of these stories ourselves, but some were news to us! The host, Conor Knighton, was a little snarky toward the media organizations that feature these folks and their ridiculous requests, but I gotta say, I'm always intrigued to see what crazy crap the American people throw at our emergency services, particularly when it involves fast food.

My favorite (although not real) was Homer's attempt to call 9-1-1 on the Simpsons.

Homer: "Operator! Get me the number for 9-1-1!!!!"

This reminds me of questions that people have apparently asked travel agents. Examples:

"Can I just take the train to Hawaii?"

"I'm trying to get to Pepsi Cola, Florida." "You mean Pensacola?" "Yeah. Whatever it's called."

"Why can't I see the ocean from my hotel room?" "You're in Jacksonville." "Don't give me that! I can see on the map, Florida's a very skinny state!"

Time is going by really, really, really slowly right now!

On a serious note me and my brother called 9-1-1 when we were 3 or so. They were came by and told us not to do it anymore without an emergency. Pretty hilarious, now thinking back about it.
