Jenny Sanford's Post-Affair Fashion: Is Looking Good The Best Revenge? (PHOTOS, POLL)

If there's one good thing that's come out of the Governor Sanford debacle, it's that Jenny Sanford isn't wanting for support. "Jenny Sanford For President," "We Support Jenny Sanford," and "Jenny Sanford For Governor--At Least Instead Of Mark!" Facebook groups have been formed. "Team Jenny" coffee mugs, t-shirts, thongs, boxers, and everything else are being sold on CafePress. And naturally, there's a Team Jenny Twitter feed.

Last week the first lady of South Carolina told reporters, "[My husband's] career is not a concern of mine...he's going to have to worry about that. I'm worried about my family and the character of my children."

Not only has the first lady of South Carolina stood strong in the wake of her husband's embarrassing behavior, but she's looked good doing it. Is that the best revenge? See her pre- and post-affair fashion below and then vote in our poll, or offer your own ideas below.

Jenny Sanford does not look good. She looks fried. She has the look of the betrayed and disobeyed. His love jones, years in the making, was more about his lack than her looks. Because she ran his day, with his approval, it would be only a matter of time before he wiggled out of harness for some new frontier time.
Maybe working with and for one's husband, whether a plumber or politician, is not such a good idea after all.
But looking good, not matter what, is always a good idea.

It is not my intention to sound rude or crude but whites just don't age as well as people of color. If you look at the photos of Mrs. Sanford she has horrible skin, she's pale, she's too thin, she doesn't have a figure and she has a lot of wrinkles.

When Governor Sanford wrote to Maria he said, "you have the ability to give magnificently gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curves of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of night’s light".

He spoke of everything Mrs. Sanford doesn't have. Obviously, Governor Sanford didn't take Mrs. Sanford feeling or possible embarrassment into consideration because he told the world how is feels about Maria. He described her as his soul mate.

At this point, it does matter how Mrs. Sanford looks, it appears, Governor Sanford hasn't really wanted Mrs. Sanford for a while. Because although he has denied have sex with other women, there have been other women. I suspect Mrs. Sanford knew all along and tried to make it work.

The fact that this woman would say "I forgive Mark" while he is comparing his affair
to David and Bathsheba means she is not 'living well.' Where is her strength of
character to protect her children from a father who is making an public fool of

Not to dump on the woman, but, no, she doesn't look good. She looks more like an anorexic poster child. While I do applaud her inner resolve, especially in the wake of his not being able to keep his business to himself, She may dress nice, but she actually looks pretty horrid. I can't speak to what kind of person she is, not knowing her personally, but she looks fairly ill to me. Looking at photos of her through the last few years, it doesn't appear to be new either, and would explain the governor's fascination with his lover's curves and tan lines.

In addition, when your husband publicly refers to his mistress as his 'soulmate', the marriage is done. May it rest in peace.

I agree - she looks horrid. She's got to get a hairstyle, take pride and update the outfits, too. She's an heiress for cryin' out loud. Out of spite, she should want to feel good about herself and present herself as an elegant, smart and desirable woman that any man would appreciate and honor. Where on earth do you find that paisley summer shirt stuff, anyway? wow. Go to a boutique, spend your money on yourself and not that maroon husband of yours. Put some meat on yer bonz, too and you might not look so stern and mean. There's no softness or appeal - and i'm not being sexist in saying that - when i look and feel sexy and powerful, I am. And i act like it. If you look at photos of her and mark and take away his tan, he looks like her except for the earrings.

Since we are being gossipy here are my two cents from a brazilian beach girl´s perspective:I´m sorry but she is NOT looking good or attractive! I´m sure Maria,a runner,is looking much better and sexier in her brazilian bikini.
Other than looks,Jenny´s personallity is of the controlling type and she uses her kids as bargaining chips.That is even less attractive! Sanford describes Maria as warm and loving to Jenny cold and revengeful?
Anyway,the guy has said many times that Maria is his soul mate and brought the love that was lacking in his life. Jenny is an obligation only and a way to see his kids. No happy future there.They should just split.

news for y'all: that beef-jerky­-in-a-loud­-print look is meant to signal wealth and leisure among women of a certain age in the American South, in much the same way that even bad cosmetic surgery signifies resources. i'm not entirely sure that "looking good" is even a serious concern for women of her age and station. looking like sun-dried horse meat wrapped in tastefully whimsical paisley seems to be an actual goal in and of itself.

He's not mentally unstable -- he's just a guy.

Problem here, is (he thinks) he fell in love -- harder to recover from than an affair like Spitzer's or Clinton's. I'm not sure, but I believe that some (many?) women would just like to ignore the fact that their man on occasion will have a sexual adventure elsewhere, as long as he is faithful to the idea of their couple/family, and as long as she is the love of his life.

But I like your bible-thumpin' comments. These people are so full of it, it's hard to know if it blinds them, if they really believe it, etc. I think they should drop God out of it and just try to deal with it with their hearts. Of course coming from such a holier-than-thou background is difficult.

The wealth is also interesting, I always thought a woman with financial independence (be it only the ability to hold a good job) was important, so she could, if need be, leave the household. It also diminishes my sympathy for her somewhat, wasn't she an investment banker? Can't have much respect for that type, really. Too much unearned money. Is that very Christian?

While visiting my 96 year old mother, we discussed the unfaithful nature of some politicians. I mentioned FDR and Eleanor. My Mother's answer: "Well, she was really ugly. I understood that!
