OK! Pays $500K For Photo Of Dying Michael Jackson

OK! Weekly is bracing for some flak over its pick for this week's cover. While other publications went with feel-good images to commemorate Michael Jackson, OK! chose a grim photo of the dying star being whisked to the hospital June 25.

A knowledgeable source said British parent Northern & Shell paid the equivalent of roughly $500,000 in U.S. dollars for exclusive magazine rights to the photo in the U.S. and U.K.

Reports are saying that when the paramedics arrived that MJ was not breathing, did not have a pulse, and he was already cold to the touch. If that is a photo of MJ on the way to the hospital then he was already dead when the photo was taken.

Angry Amish Junior, you and One Earthling, and maybe others got it right imo. MJ is not being treated for sudden cardiac arrest in this photo. Oxygen given through nasal cannula (nose prongs) is low flow for someone breathing on their own, and though the collar could be to secure his spine (if he might have fallen) or to prevent movement which might dislodge a (endotracheal) tube set directly into his trachea, i saw no tube and the collar doesn''t appear to to fit well (covering up his mouth, should be supporting his chin) so I too am skeptical as to whether this photo is what it is claimed to be. In any case, whenever it was taken, it is not the way i think he would want to be remembered but for him, that indignity is now irrrelevent, not so for his family.

This is NOT the photo of a man en route to the hospital while dying (or already d ead) from cardiac arrest. This pic was most likely snapped during one of his many previous trips to the hospital. Somebody got scammed, perhaps us.
