Republicans

GOP leaders have a new complaint about President Obama: He's not reaching out to them nearly as much as he did earlier this year, when he road-tested his pledge of post-partisanship, only to get uniformly rebuffed on his first big legislative initiative.

Obama doesn't baby-sit the Rethugs any more ? That's strange. He's always said he wants bipartisnship. Baby Cantor needs some baby sitting from Obama or Briney Spear.

Gee, you think? He has better things to do than to this, especially when all they've been able to do is say no and stall things. Earth to GOP: the President is busy trying to get this country on its feet again. If you're going to come up with more "budgets" and "health care reforms", just leave a message. He'll get back to you in due time.

Next election cycle when the country is getting itself straightened-out after 8 years of tax-cuts for the rich and war profiteering the Dem's can say they did it their way and see what it does to the country compared to them and their destruction. I think there will be a larger majority to really get things done and we can finally say goodbye to these domestic turrerists once and for all.

Eric, Eric you're just not the wooing kind. You want wooing, turn around and there's Pete Sessions. he's probably feeling "LEFT" out to.

Gettting the blue dogs to vote Democrat should be the new definition of bipartisan.

Obama doesn't really need the Republicans for anything now. Cantor can probably clean urinals in the White House if he can pass the security check and beat out the competition.

Cleaning urinals is probably the best job opening Obama's stimulus plan has to offer.

It's this attitude that has the GOP marching toward irrelevance.

The "Party of 'No'" explanation for giving up on the possibility of worthwhile Republican participation is covered in the article. Here's another.

The last time, if I recall correctly, that President Obama did try to specifically include GOPs, he didn't just get "no" he got "no, we prefer our alternative budget without any numbers in it." It was such a worthless pile of gopaganda that by the next week, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) admitted it was not correct to call it a "budget" at all -- although that IS what Boehner called it the week before, when he released it on the public.

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/04/01/not-a-budget/
[
RYAN: Yes. The thing you saw last week was not the alternative budget. This is our alternative budget we’re bringing to the floor today. [...]

What was released last week was more of a marketing document. Not a budget. This is our budget.
]

I'd be seriously questioning President Obama's judgment if he DID look for more "bi-partisanship" of that quality.
