Sanford seriously needs to stop. he's constantly giving out new details of his affair and his ego and self-importance truly know no bounds. he's so wrapped up in himself and his affair that he seems to honestly believe that his bible babble is something we all want to hear day in and day out. you cheated. you lied. deal with it privately and stop calling so much constant attention to yourself.
I think it is great that Sanford is sharing so much ... He is doing more single handily to sink the Republican party's sanctimonious "Christian Family Values"
We are getting to see what they really are from both he and his wife.
Please do not resign Governor Sanford. The people of South Carolina need you now more than ever.
"Your winnings, Mr Bennett."
I really don't know why Mark Sanford is running off at the mouth the way he is and I have no doubt that people like Bennett want him to stop. It is embarrassing THEM not Sanford. Sanford is so wrapped up in his personal life he doesn't have enough sense to be embarrassed and cannot think clearly about his professional life. I cannot think of a better reason for him to step down or at least take a leave of absence.
But isn't that the whole backbone of the Republangelicals: the OUTREACH and then the beggin for forgiveness. The 'I have Sinned Syndrome' that makes them ever-so-human !! When the other side is human they manifest their Diablo.
I love that word "overshari
But he does keep me laughing.
Where's the coverage of the John Edwards sex tape huffpo?
Way in the back somewhere. See, John Edwards isnt a Governor, but you knew that, right?
We will talk about the sex tape after we get to watch it like we get to watch Sanford implode right now.
Very lame attempt to deflect from the issue.
If it was up your butt you'd know.
The reasons Gov. Romeo is talking so much:
1. He want's a divorce, but he is to religious and cowardly to do it himself. He is trying to humiliate and torment Jenny into doing it for him, so he can say "see God, you see that I tried, right? But Jenny, she just couldn't hang in there so it didn't work out.
and
2. He want's the mistress to know that she's the one he really loves.
He did say he was "trying to fall in love with his wife"....a mortal insult. Jenny should dump him immediately anf not waste any more of her valuable time. God knows she doesn't need his money.
I hope she divorces him, then writes a book and runs for congress or something, then finds a "soulmate" of her own and gets married again....t
I think you are right. Except I think that rather than wanting the mistress to know he "loves" her, he is making a twisted attempt to make his mistress look like less of a tramp so he looks more honorable. After all if they are "soulmates", they were powerless to stop themselves. The "at least I can die knowing I met my soulmate" had to be the most cringe-worthy line of the whole interview.
Hasn't Sanford resigned yet?
Why not?
He doesn't have the bawls to resign or get a divorce.
Because God told him he could stay.
Very weird to say, but I actually agree with Bennett on something. Sanford has gone WAY into the Land of Too Much Information. He needs a therapist, not another interview with the Associated Press.
Could it be possible that this man has lead such a rigid, disciplined life so as to be a good political candidate that he has never felt genuine attraction before? These feelings seem to have totally taken him over. We demand so much from our politicians that they must lead a plastic existence devoid of everyday problems that seem to invade and direct the lives of the rest of us. They are kept so busy and self aware that genuine emotions are muted. The fact that our marriages last about 7 yrs., who are we to look down our noses? Per the poets and the preachers, love is what it's all about. If this fella has found it, how marvelous. If he can go with that and keep the faith and trust of his children and a civility with his wife, he is a very fortunate mortal. Love and marriage too quickly devolve into obligation and responsibility held together by peaceful coexistence. However, this constant pining about his "forbidden" love seems to be a smoke screen for his inability to come out of the closet. The "perfect" political couple could only be pulled off with the detachment of one party or the other being somewhat impassive to the normal love cycle. I think he's gay.
I think you're just plain old ignorant. This man is going through a "midlife-crisis". It's one thing when the wrinkles below the waist don't matter. But when your body and face start to match..WHo
He's having a good old-fashioned midlife crisis. You have way over-analyzed this.
This can't be 'true love', because there are an additional 6 women (at least) in the simultaneous mix. Jenny needs to get tested, asap....
I learned a long time ago, it is these repressed ones that you have to watch out for. Hands all over the place.
